New 140 mag wont seat

Move please if this is in wrong post:

Just received a new -major name mag-

140 9mm. Has to be slammed into gun. And mag catch will not lock it into place.

Have to push up on mag to catch.

Also extremely tight in grip of gun when it does seat re: absolutely no front to back or side to side movement.

Other mags from this company and another all work flawlessly.

Have sent info to that company have not yet received a reply.

Am I missing something?

It's my open gun.

Kind of hard to decipher with no more info. Is it an STI frame and a new SV mag? Is it a new style STI mag that probably need tuned?

Sounds to me like the mag catch hole is out of spec a little. May be a touch too low.  

 

I'd start be measuring from a fixed point on a couple mags that work and compare that to the mag that doesn't work well.

Something on the mag is out of spec ...   I'm sure the mag company will rectify 

it during the work week

Yes the mag catch hole is low.

But I won't touch it. Its a NEW 140.00 mag.

Back it goes Monday.

Not that this was your problem, but, I've had a grip frame bushing not fully seated cause certain magazines to seat hard and not drop properly.

old news- sent back to company- and they sent me a new one- stated front tube of mag was out of speck- a lot !!
