MissionaryMike
Hey, gang. Could you please share some of your P09 handloads? I'm using 147 grain coated flat point bullets from BBI with n320, and I'm not getting nearly the same accuracy from this combo as I do in my Shadow. MissionaryMike
Looks like I might have to move to a lighter bullet.
dave33
I have a P-09 in .40 and 9mm and they both prefer lighter weight bullets. Best load I have is 5.45 Autocomp under a 124gr Precision Delta JHP. About an inch at 25yds.

dave33
The most accurate load with the .40 was with fast moving 140gr bullets, however for an all around bullet I settled on the 165gr Bayou FP. Its almost as accurate as the 140's but stays accurate loaded down with lighter loads.
jester121
I can echo what dave33 saw as well, shooting .40 minor in a P-09. SNS Casting's 140gr seemed to group tighter but felt snappier loaded to minor+safe margin PF, so I settled on SNS 165 gr with a bit less powder and liked the recoil a bit better (using e3 powder, I think 3.6 gr or so, loaded pretty short). Ocrrhbow
The best I've found so far is with 125gr Blue Bullets over 3.5gr of VVn320 at 1.08 OAL. Light recoil and accurate. Average 132-135 PF
M1A4ME
My 9MM P09 (and my .40 S&W P07) seem to prefer lighter bullets. I've tried several powders and bullets in 147 grain in my 9MM P09 and not been impressed with the groups. However, it just "loves" 115 grain hollow points from Delta Precision in front of 8.0 grains of Blue Dot. Yeah, a compressed load but still on the lower end pressure wise according to the manuals. Besides, I load for group size, not velocity. I have not, as yet, experimented with 124 grain bullets in the P09. With the .40 S&W P07 I've only shot 135 grain Nosler hollow points (also using Blue Dot powder - got the load from the Nosler website). I got lucky and found a load with Herco and Missouri Bullets 140 grain lead flat points that shoots to the same point of aim as the 135 grain Noslers. I'm getting ready to experiment with 180 grain lead flatpoints in the P07, but probably not till early fall when I'm done with a couple other reloading projects. koteris
I tested this load last night. Medium recoil, not very much smoke, and the 15 yard freestyle accuracy was nice.
