314shane
Just wondering if anyone has tried their spurless hammer?

314shane
I'll be honest guys, I don't think it's on their site. I didn't even know they made one. I just got some shims from them and they sent me a catalog. That's where I saw it. I was considering an apex but if there's is just as good since they are from my state I kinda know Randal. Well you guys get the point.
314shane
I looked again and couldn't find it on their site. The part number is 0-7-2 in the catalog
Spaceball
Oops, thought that I found it but this one has a spur http://powercustom.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=1159 Edited February 9, 2016 by Spaceball
10mmdave
Nice to know I can get one of these after I screw up the MIM ones I have. http://powercustom.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=1158
314shane
Ok, here's the story. I talked to them today and they said it's a new product and they do have approximately 40 in stock. He put it on the site today and emailed me the link. So here it is let me know what you guys think. http://powercustom.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=1161
alecmc
Interesting. I wish they listed the weight, Looks sort of chunky still. Given Apexs excellent history, price point, and aesthetically more pleasing. I dont see a reason to sell all my apex hammers and swap over. ully CNC'd and Wire EDM from Bar Stock. Case Hardened. Takes the place of the Factory MIM powedered Hammers. Perfect for trigger action jobs on new style guns since the new hammers will not hold up with a trigger pull. This is the Speed Hammer. This is a special for the 1st week only. Not really sure what that means?
Carmoney
Yeah, that jumped out at me also, Alec. Sounds like BS puffing.
314shane
I'm pretty sure that's a typo. I'll ask him about it. I think what he meant was that it will hold up where the mim ones might not last as long. For what it's worth, he took the pic and put it on the site and emailed me the link in about 2 hours. That being said I have no idea what it takes to do something like that. Edit for spelling and brain fart mem=men with fat thumbs on on iPhone plus brain fart. I got it right now, I think Edited February 12, 2016 by 314shane
314shane
I'll also ask him to weigh it. What units would you like him to weigh it in?
alecmc
Looks pretty heavy, probably in pounds. ;-)
314shane
Alright then, I'll have him run it through the scale at the local truck stop ;-). I'm seriously going to do the math and give it to you in lbs. Just because I want to be the bigger smart a--.
314shane
.0749572 lbs for the n frame internal firing pin
Gregg K
That would be right at 525 grains. I can't remember what Randy's hammer weighs but I thought that one of my chopped down MIM hammers was closer to 285. I'll have to weigh one when I get home
MWP
I have a 500 grain hammer, and it's in my 617. An apex N frame ready to drop in the gun weighs just under 350gr. An aggressive chop made famous by that car loan guy can get easily into the low 200s.
314shane
He reworded the ad on his site too
MrBorland
It looks to be a nice piece, and I'm all for new aftermarket performance hammers, but it looks quite heavy - unnecessarily so. I've no doubt it'll "last...with rigorous use", but I do have doubts about the "speed hammer" label.
