mwray
I recently started shooting a STI in open and thought sure why not just pickup two 170mm MBX mags and be done. Through all my range trips testing ammo to get my 9 major loads dialed in the mags never caused the first problem. But over the past couple of months I could not get them to function at a match. Yesterday I went to the range and ran 200 rounds flawlessly. Trying to load them every way possible bound and determined to fix my problem. My theory at this point is they do not like to be cleaned or I'm oiling my gun to heavy. I always clean all my gear the night before a match. Anyone have any thoughts??? GrumpyOne
Clean your gun right before your next range session and see if the problem occurs. If it does not, and it only happens during a match, it is your grip pressure.
billdozer
On my 40 i found my mags weren't dropping free during matches and that's what it was, i was squeezing the grip a lot harder than in practice.
jcc7x7
+1 above Get to a range where u can set up a stage and see when it happens Do your reloads in practice on the clock Make your practice like a match to duplicate your problem
Hi-Power Jack
I could not get them to function. Yesterday I ran 200 rounds flawlessly. If you are having FTF's, the problem is not limited to the mags ... Could be the ammo, lube, bunch of other things. Possible it's only one of the mags that's not working? All the ammo has been chamber checked as usual. And when they have acted up at matches I would bum a couple of mags and the problem went away. So I know the problem has been with the mags. I'm competent enough to fix my problems, but this one has me stumped by the reactions I'm getting. I don't really want to spend a thousand bullets on resolving a problem that shouldn't exist to start with
