AWLAZS
I liked the popper design they used at this years nationals. Does anyone know what company carries that design?
Paul-the new guy
which ones were they? The ones with the separate base?
waktasz
It was just a loose popper placed on top of a metal base. They worked well, always falling when hit, but they suck to pick up out of the mud.
Paul-the new guy
Yeah, they could use a board or tire behind them to keep them off the ground. I am pretty sure they were made by Rick Arnold a few years ago just before the Pro-Am. His company is Rafab it is located in Orlando and he mostly builds other things. He also built several aluminum hooks to pick the poppers up from the ground when he built the targets. You would have to call him to see if he is still making targets. Poppa Bear
We build them ourselves and we put pieces of tire behind them to make them easier to pick up.
Chills1994
Loading dock bumpers is where it's at. Barring that, a strip of conveyor belt placed and secured at both ends to form like a bulge or arched piece.

The target portion of these poppers is not attached so with a small bumper like either of these it just falls to the side
Chills1994
Yeah, I have seen something like that before. Just how small is the metal base the popper plate sits on top of? Sounds like you'd be better off with a a used lawn tractor tire or a used ATV tire. Edited October 20, 2015 by Chills1994
AWLAZS
The base was small the poppers were light
Poppa Bear
We took several SUV tires and cut them into quarters. Bolted the ends together to form wedges.
