jnr88
I have a new to me stroked Akai. I've spoken woth Shay who was very helpful. His advice for springs was to use standard government springs and cut off about 6 or 7 coils. I'm still unclear as to why. Can anyone shed more light on this topic. Thanks in advance. Garmil
The slide travels further back, need less coils so the spring is shorter when compressed to allow the extra rearward travel.

Shadyscott999
pretty sure he didnt say cut 6-7 coils. You want to cut as many coils as necessary to prevent spring bind. Usually 1-3 coils.
cactusbrew
I have a stroked akai limited 5inch and I cut two coils off of a 13 lb spring. This is exactly what Shay told me to do.
