Zak Smith
I finally pony up for an AWP and no sooner have I broken it in that AI announces bankrupcy, 24 of its 28 employees are fired ("redundancies"), and the AI rifle system's future is unknown. Turns out I got the last one shipped from TacPro before AI-UK's announcement last Friday. Anybody got any extra mags or a hand stop they want to get rid of? GRR! Zak Smith
It's not that at all.. I want to get more stuff for it, and then a 338 next year.
John Dunn
I know, lame attempt at injecting humor. Hope they get things sorted out soon.

EricW
How is this even possible considering the entire British army uses the AI system? WTF??
TriggerT
Not sure what they might have had for accesories, but I was in the Scottsdale Gun Club a few weeks ago, and they carried AI stuff. Might be worth a phone call anyway.
Bruce
EricW...if true, it would not be the first company with a good (although extremely expensive) product and loyal customer base that went to bankruptcy court. Hard telling what they have spent on R&D and things of that nature. I don't know how well military contracts pay on items like that...or what the sales numbers are on rifles priced like AI's. Zak Smith
Thanks, I'll try the SGC. As for sales, it's hard to find AI rifles in stock at their largest US dealer, so they've got to be moving well. -z
ErikW
Is it a reorganizational bankruptcy or is it a close-the-doors type?
Zak Smith
We don't know yet. Everyone's hoping for te former.
1911user
The first post at THR link (if true, looks legit) explains why AI went bankrupt. It couldn't be good having expensive new 50 cal rifles blow up. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=127455
Zak Smith
AI has been repurchased and AI stuff is available again.
Carlos
So, no "close-out sale at rock-bottom prices"? Glad to hear you AI owners will not be left in the lurch; seemed like the hot-ticket (though expensive) for MOR. Regards, D.C. Johnson
shopgun
Zak, thats good news. I bought an AICS, and was told my 10 round mags were on "backorder". Where did you hear this? Any timeframe for product being shipped? Jim.
davidwiz
On AI's web site http://www.accuracyinternational.com it says a group of former and current employees bought the company.
Zak Smith
I've also spoken to Alice @ TacPro. They're back in the business of shipping AI stuff as of this past Monday.

shopgun
zak, are you saying you got some 10 rnd mags?
Zak Smith
Yes. I assume these were ones TP had in stock but couldn't sell until the AI situation was resolved.
