reneet
I downloaded the stages for this years A4 match and I have a question about stage 12. Phil Terry is the designer. It shows a cattle gate. Am I supposed to open it or climb my big ass over it? It didn't say. But it's called lets get physical. Someone check it out and reply back. Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Doesn't open. Over or around are your choices.
bayoupirate
I agree with BigLucky, I'm not complaining here, but I love the complex high round stages with lots of props. That's what I expect at an Area Match. 11 of the stages are Creative, Well designed and exactly what I'd expect. The 50 yard standard is different and I actually like that, but four 18 round stages back-to-back will seem more like a day of practice at the range than an Area Match. I hope that these stages will be renumbered for the Match to spread out among the field courses. I'm sure that I missed the call and request for stage designs, but I'll be sure to send a few in for next year. I'll be there!

This is my first Area match, is it normal to have this format where you only shoot half of both of the days?? That seems really wierd to me. I am in squad 23, which shows as shooting my first stage after lunch on Friday. So I just hang out the first half of the day???
Harmon
ken hicks and wayne miller are probably two of the better stage designers in the area. I like the way the match is set up and the squad matrix.. looks like it will work great. stages 4,5, and 6 are a test of your practical shooting fundamentals, they shouldbe shot together...not spread out among field courses. forget designing stages, we need people to help build stages. between ken, wayne and phil, the stage designs are covered! ipscron2000
BigLucky You were saying how weird the matrix was. Me and 3 of my friends are taking advantage of this. We chose the schedule where we are done shooting by noon or so on Saturday. We are going to get cleaned up and go out for a buffet dinner and go hit the casino's all night. And of course go to the awards on Sunday morning. I wrote Wayne M. and asked his what time we should be out of there on Sunday morning and he hoped to have everyone gone by 11 or 12. Jeeper
Jeeper, Sfinney or Renee,What's the height of the gate? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is a normal tubular metal cattle gate. I think it was about 4 feet high.

bayoupirate
THanks Sniper, I'm thinking that it's a bit higher than your standard Bar Top. I could clear that in one hop the last time I tried. Of Course, That was a while back. ONE More question. Is there any requirement that you actually wear a holster for the stage????
Flexmoney
Is there any requirement that you actually wear a holster for the stage???? Yes...in the rule book. 5.2.5.3 says (more or less) you can't move or change your holster or equipment during a match.
markm
I think the rule is 5.2.5.3 Which is a yes. I'm too old and too slow for Mr. Flex
Athena
Maybe if I don't eat for 3 days prior to the match, I might be able to squeeze through the bars..... just a thought....
bayoupirate
Thanks for the clarification. I didn't think I'd be able to drop the holster. Now I have to see Exaclty How I'll clear that thing. Anyone know where I can get those Red and Blue Spiders? Ray
Sharyn
I could clear that in one hop the last time I tried. I think Jake Hicks tried that in the walk-through... then when he shot the stage, he climbed over it... covered in mud.
ipscron2000
I'm thinking of asking my neighbor if I can climb his cattle gate. I don't know him and I'll bet he thinks I'm crazy.......
Jake Di Vita
Would love to see the look on his face when you go over to climb his cattle gate with your gun rig on.
PhilTerry
The only person I saw vault the gate at the section match was Ed Shadbolt - Super Senior!!!
Flexmoney
Sure seem easy to distract people from the shooting... Hmm...where can I get a cattle gate???
