COF
Has anyone ever tried to bore out a 9mm revolver to .38 Super. Not sure how many 6 shot 9mm revolvers are out there. Jerry
tightloop
It is a waste of time and money....just get a 38 Super revo from S&W and be done with it.. Just my .02 worth..
DJPoLo
Who makes a 9mm revolver??? I want one! -Chet
cliffwalsh
Ruger makes a 9mm sp101.
Patrick Sweeney
Smith made a couple as well. Besides the problems of the 9mm being bigger at the base than the Super, and who's going to machine it for moonclips, the S&W collectors would be at your door with pitchforks and torches. twix
Does Ruger still make the SP101 in 9mm? I wanted to buy one a few years back and the "mouthbreathers" (wink to Wakal) at the gun store told me Ruger quit making it in 9mm. Patrick, funny comment and probably quite true about the S&W collectors.
tightloop
they are still around...but hard to find and pretty expensive in this area...
scooterj
Taurus makes a 5 shot moon-clip 9mm revo. I really like mine.
Carmoney
Ruger made the Speed-Six in 9mm. Slick little set-up for SSR under the old rules, until IDPA headquarters made it illegal a month ago. Now it's only useful for concealed carry and home defense use--not IDPA. (yes, I'm a little bitter....)
53justice
Concealed carry and home defense. Isn't that what IDPA professed to being all about? Never shot it, didn't care for the rules when they started and still don't. Joe Justice
spook
I'd do what TL suggests. Just get a .38 super from the factory. The conversion + clips will be more expensive than the new gun. Threaddrift: I'vs said this before: I can't understand why S&W don't make a 9mm revolver. The 8-shot 627 or the 6 shot 686 would be perfect moonlip 9mm guns. COF
It's ironic - I talked to Jerry Miculek at the Nationals and he said he'd been trying to get S&W to build a 9mm K-frame. Now that would have been a sweet shooter. Jerry
COF
Does Smith still make a 6 shot .38 Super revolver? I couldn't find anything on their website. Jerry
cardboardkiller
S&W dropped the 38 super revolver last year or the previous year. Here is one and I've seen a few on the various gun auction/classified sites.
