twodownzero
First test of BBI's out of my Open gun using WAC. Yes they do smoke. Not like a bare lead bullet out of a 1911 but they do smoke. I didn't see any smoke. If that's smoke, then all ammo smokes.
Sarge
You are friggin smoking something TDZ! If you don't see the difference between those two strings you really should get your eyes checked.
ss+P
thanks for posting the video Sarge. There was a little more smoke/gas coming out of the port on the top, but it didn't seem to linger in front of the muzzle as much when compared to a non-comped gun. Seems like a viable option, at least to me. even if it is just for practice ammo. Edited October 20, 2014 by ss+P
IHMSA15151
I spoke with a BB guy today at the Gator Classic. They have two new harder coating out now and to answer your original question: Yes, you can load them to "major" in a comped open gun.

gng4life
I want to try this again with the newer formulations. I did it with the original Bayou bullets and while they were accurate enough (not as accurate as my MG JHP), they smoked enough to bother me. I agree with Kevin, the difference between the loads he did is extremely different and that would bother me also. I did shoot some of the Blue bullets and it smoke some but not too bad, just enough where I didn't like it and they left blue residue on my hands after every reloading session. ZackJones
I want to try this again with the newer formulations. I have some 147's and some 105's (I think) from recent Bayou purchase if you want some to test with let me know. I can bring some to the match Saturday. Light700
I have some bayou bullets that I need to try out in my open gun. I may just use them for 3 gun so I don't have to load them to major PF. They run great in ally other pistols
