JunotFranco
What can be causing this?? I have a Brazos Custom 2011 STI. It has a few thousand rds through it. The hammer is following while shooting every 3-4 rounds. Slamming the slide to test engagement does not duplicate the problem at all. Please help!! Thanks Edited July 17, 2014 by JunotFranco
bountyhunter
First suspects would be the sear face/hammer hook, either the angles or maybe wear on the edges of the cuts. Or maybe the sear spring is too light? Is it possible a disconnector problem may be hanging the sear up so it doesn't release and re engage the hammer hook? Trent1k1
Make sure the hammer spring is installed correctly. Also, make sure the grip screws are tight. Definitely contact Bob. He will take care of you.
billdozer
I had this start recently. My grip had wore out wear the sear spring sits and allowed the spring to slip under the sear.
Rick88
Increase the tenstion on the far left leg of the sear spring and see what happens, if this fixes it get a new spring. It could very well be that simple...
T Bacus
Two common but not often diagnosed issues. First, make sure the front of the disconector is not protruding into the magwell. Second, remove the sear spring and check about half way down it's length and insure that there is no rub mark indicating that the hammer strut is rubbing against it. And as others have said, contact Brazos. Edited July 18, 2014 by T Bacus
Ultimo-Hombre
When I experienced hammer follow it turned out to be just a loose left side grip screw.
EkuJustice
I agree with above, check grip screw tension as I have seen that cause follow. Also make sure the sear spring isnt loose in the slot it sits in as that can cause it to slip as well
JunotFranco
For now problem fixed. After reading your comments and further research leaf spring middle prong pushed in and problem solved. After sunday's match sending it off to replace the leaf spring as well as disconnector sear and hammer. Thanks for your input guys!!!
