Jayohee
After looking through the forums I found that there was someone in Alabama who can do this for about $120 and has done so for Dave Sevigny. The only problem is I didn't want to spend $120 + shipping and I believed I can do something similar myself for relatively cheap. In researching further I've read people using JB weld. I chose Loctite general purpose putty instead as JB weld can be a real pain to sand and remove if necessary. As a result I made this. Hope it helps: Parts: Loctite General Purpose Putty - $3.50 400 Grit Sandpaper - $4.00 Rubbing Alchohol - $2.00 Terry cloth Optional: Dremel Paint NOTE: I used a Pearce grip plug in tandem with this mod. You can go without the plug and just fab the entire thing. I chose to use the plug as there will be less work and sanding needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlB6xCtWQmE Sevigny Speedwell: http://southpawcustom.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2:sevigny-speedway&catid=2:services&Itemid=4 And just to make sure it's legal it looks like someone already asked and got the okay: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=107818 Edited June 13, 2014 by Jayohee
Gooldylocks
This is an awesome mod. Nice work. I can't see the pictures but if it looks like the one through the link nice work. I might have to look at doing this when I get a production gun. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Steve RA
Out of curiosity, why the removal of the vid by the OP ???
Jayohee
I removed it for two reasons. One I was getting mixed messages about the legality of it for Production. Even with the research done by prior shooters in the links RO's at my local club couldn't say with certainty it was legal (it was 50/50). Two I think I can do it better by adding paint during the meading process. Painting after the fact doesn't work as well as it comes off during reloads. I will research some more and re-post when I am 100% sure at my club.
cpa5oh
Hope this is production legal - I'd send the 34 off to have it done immediately...
vluc
Didn't I recall something from years ago that it was a visible mod and therefore illegal? http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=107818
cpa5oh
That link has amidon saying it is a legal modification...but from 2008. Everything else in the thread is just guys speculating. I'll email amidon and the guy that does these modifications and post anything I get in response.
cpa5oh
From amidon, a speedy and pointed response: Dan, Yes it is still legal as it does not violate any of the rules in effect. John
fishsticks
Mod itself is legal. The only thing to watch is weight. Some glocks don't have much leeway before going over weight. As an example, my G17 barely makes it with only a plastic grip plug and minor trigger work.
cpa5oh
I'll send my limited gun in for the treatment and see what it's like...not a fan of big magwells anyhow.

vluc
Here's hoping that whoever replaces John after he retires in the Fall shares the same points of view. At one time a little piece of tape in the magwell was fine, then it wasn't. That's an easily fixed mod. Like stipling, once you make the change, can't go back. vluc
Well that retirement came faster than expected. Best to John, now we look to see who gets the nod.
fwrun
I'd like to see the video regardless of production legality. I have several other pistols I don't use in USPSA that I'd like to try this on...
