usmc1974
I picked up a used Beretta 92A1 and want to replace the after market adjustable rear sight they stuck on it with a factory type rear sight. So here is my question, is the rear sight on a 92a1 closer to a brigader rear sight, or a regular 92 rear sight? Thanks B
mgardner
They probably put an adjustable sight on it because the factory sights are regulated to hit in the middle of the front dot and is low with a normal 6 o'clock hold. If you want the original sight picture just get the 92 sight from the Beretta website.
whip
I sent my M9A1 slide to Tool Tech to replace the rear sight with a Trijicon rear and they drilled and inserted a Trijicon filament into the front sight (it was milled into the slide). When they sent it back to me, they sent back the original rear sight. I'll try to find it. If it will work, you can have it.
whip
The important word of the phrase was "try" to find it... and it was in the first place I looked (that rarely happens with me). Here is a photo: Edited June 7, 2014 by whip
cindynles
Wilson Combat is making sights for Beretta's now. http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Wilson-Combat-Battlesight-Serrated-Blade-270-Beretta-92FS_96FS/productinfo/630/
bountyhunter
They probably put an adjustable sight on it because the factory sights are regulated to hit in the middle of the front dot and is low with a normal 6 o'clock hold. That's why I put adj rear sights on my 92. You can put the stock sight back on..... and then you'll kick yourself when it hits about 3" low at 25 yards. I believe the 92 sights must be set up to shoot 124 grain +p NATO ammo, not the typical 115 gr factory stuff. Anyway, they always shoot low with standard ammo. hceuterpe
I own a 92A1. I did all number of mods to the gun's frame. The slide in it's entirety however, is still stock. It's a three dot. Imo, they bought the adjustable slight because they were lazy and (hopefully he not your best friend...) Possibly ignorant to learn how the sight picture works. Being a military/combat style pistols POA is different than what must be a lot of other pistols. My PX4 SC is the same way,so perhaps it's also Beretta's thing . Even the Nano seems like that. And they love 3dot. I'm glad you're doing the right thing by getting rid of that silly adjustable sight . I'd say get used to the sight picture. An adjustable sight can lose zero...
