bradthegunmaniac
I've had my CZ for about 4 years never had any leading problems until recently. I have been shooting moly bullets with solo 1000 the whole time. Any idea why I might be having problems now?
pbosik
What problems are you having? I see you say leading, but more info would help. Edited May 18, 2014 by pbosik
Prov1x
Leading problems? Did you switch bullet manufacturers of different grain? Edited May 18, 2014 by Prov1x
bradthegunmaniac
No change in my recipe. The barrel was always clean now there is lead in the rifling after 100 rounds.
fishsticks
New batch of bullets from same mfg? Is it possible the bullets are slightly undersized? That can be a contributor to leading.
basman
Check your crimp. Pull a bullet and see if you are cutting into the coating.
rtp
Check your crimp. Pull a bullet and see if you are cutting into the coating. ^, or possibly an aggressively set Lee Factory Crimp Die (if used), could be swaging the bullet down a bit, which can certainly cause leading. MRevolutionIX
I was having that issue when using the Lee FCD and because it was essentially resizing the bullet, I was having tumbling issues.

MRevolutionIX
When was the last time you cleaned your dies? Those moly bullets can leave a lot of residue and maybe enough to change the inside diameter of the sizing, seating and crimp dies if they havent been cleaned. Just a thought... Bunsen
Also may want to check the hardness on the new batch of bullets and make sure it is good. that could also lead to the problems.
BeerBaron
if the thing has been shot a lot it 'could' be a worn barrel. don't jump on me guys! I mean if shooting 500 rounds a week as many competitive shooters do it's not unreasonable to expect to have to spend another $130 on a barrel after 4 years of use... is it?
