kneelingatlas
If you are planing a 90degree mount I can support you on a good solution. My mount is actually an aluminium plate fitted over the c-more battery tray, connected to the frame. Thanks Mattias, but I used Matt Cheely's Czechmate mount for my TS Open gun and plan to use another on this build.

Jody Waring
Guys, if its OK to ask this question here,... any issues putting the 9mm barrel in the .40 TS slide as far as reliability etc? Want to try shooting 9mm for steel and local club matches. I can picture the TS being like shooting a .22 with the right load in 9mm. Thanks! Jody Waring
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it would be that simple. I have the CZub grips with the built in spacers that allow me to use small frame CZ75 mags which is a neat option, and I already have 9mm magazines. Thanks! gose
I love it! What's your timeline? I'll be down your way for a few weeks in July and can bring my czechmate. Or better yet, a SP01 shadow that wants to be an open gun -- or both :-) We should have a mid-peninsula Czechmate shoot-out, as there are at least three here now Belmont, San Carlos and San Mateo... trgt
Awesome! You have to look close to tell the complete rig isn't fresh from the factory, and I definitely mean that as a big compliment. Very interested to hear/see how it runs! Edited May 1, 2014 by trgt

kneelingatlas
Gose, That's hard to pin down since I used different parts from different guns and may have the largest parts cache this side of AZ!I guess if someone wanted to start from scratch and build this, they could buy the following: -short dust cover SA Shadow - $850 http://czcustom.com/CZ75SHADOWSABLACK.aspx -Czechmate comp - $245 http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/19207_Compensator-9mm-4-Port -TS barrel (CZ USA had the CM barrel in stock at one point but I don't see it now, plus it's about 0.18" too long) - $145 http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/047004940706_Barrel-Tactical-Sport-9mm -Czechmate hammer - $90 http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/40108_Concealed-Hammer-Sa-Only -Czechmate racker - $36 http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/550047000001_Slide-Racker-For-Tsczechmate-Only -Czechmate CMore mount - $150 (I used the Cheely mount, but they don't seem to be in stock now) http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/40100_Czechmate-Scope-Mount -CMore Slide Ride - $260 http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/C-More-Slide-Ride-Railway-Black-CLICK-P1313.aspx -CZC mag well - $75 http://czcustom.com/cz75magwellidpa.aspx -Mag well mainspring plug - $35 http://czcustom.com/cz75fullsizemagwellplug.aspx -(3) sets CZC springs/followers/base pads to get the Shadow mags to 25rnds reloadable - $165 -(1) 25 round mag complete (to compare to the 3-20s and 1-26 you get with the CM) - $104 -Tax/shipping/FFL fees ~ $300 -Gunsmith labor to drill/tap frame, cut/thread barrel, fit comp ~ $500 Grand total - $2,955 Wow that's depressing Granted, you would be left with maybe $200 worth of parts to sell, plus you could save money buying parts used and doing the work yourself; $2K would be about the cheapest anyone could get this done. czbeardly
I am going to follow your build like on like donkey kong A clubmate has a CZ IPSC in .40 (the pre-czmate/ts version) which he is thinking of departing with. My ideas are running wild!
kneelingatlas
A clubmate has a CZ IPSC in .40 The Standard IPSC would make a great Open gun project because the serial number is further back on the frame so you can chop back the dust cover much further without disturbing it. Send me a PM if you get going on that project and we can talk ideas!
CAGLS
kneelingatlas, so to attach the comp you had to thread your barrel. I'd like to add that to my TS/ SP-01 Shadow frame gun but I had the Accu bushing installed so I'm not sure if it would work still. I'm going to have to ask Stuart if it will. Also since your in CA like me isn't a threaded barrel not legal to possess or is it ok to have my own barrel threaded? CAGLS
John, you are going to make me do the same thing with my SA. Have you seen the evolution sp01 variation? http://www.waffen-oschatz.de/CZ_75_Sport_Evolution.html that is the one CZ I would probably trade every CZ I have for. I haven't had any success getting them to respond to my email purchase inquiries to buy their long slides. I've emailed them at least 3 times. That confirms what I gathered when I was looking into building one of my CZs into an Open gun. I ended up buying a Czechmate as I didnt see it being worth the hassle, though I would prefer a gun built on an "unmolested" TS frame as I prefer the TS grip to the Czechmate one. ( Though not strongly enough to have my top end fitted to one of my TS guns, maybe if I can find a second Czechmate )
