Secretariat
For a commander sized 1911 pistol, what would recommend on what Reciol Spring Weight to get? Thanks.
Dirty Rod
For an actual Colt Commander I believe the factory weight is 18 lbs. If it's not, I'd check the manual or vendor site. I believe my Baer came with an 18lbs variable spring however my Kimber Pro and SA Champion came with 22lbs springs but will work with 20-22lbs springs. Mpie427
If in doubt, check out the Wolf calibration spring sets...I've used them to tune my 1911 gov't and loads I use. Big help.
practical_man
Wolff 18# in both of mine Edited January 8, 2014 by practical_man
Papa Joe
I found the 20# worked well in my Kimber Pro Carry.
jcc7x7
20lbs first 500 rounds then tuned load and me (lol) to throw brass for self defense load about 8-10 feet. Seems to work for me. That was what I was taught 30+ years ago. use 18lbs in 5" 45acp to start
