Ray Chonlatid
Anyone same problem as me (as below picture) ? After a few of two thousand rounds. http://photo.keepalbum.com/?2499341
DougCarden
Yep, mine did the same thing. A little JB weld and it is as good as new. I used it today as a matter of fact. I was trying to pop out old brass that I am not sure how I got it into the moon clip. My fault. Use some epoxy or bonder, should be ok. Round_Gun_Shooter
I had the same problem with mine. I had purchased it from Dillon and they replaced it. Regards,
phara
Happened twice to me but broke in non-reparable places. Went back to the trusty old tube types. They have an aluminum one now, I might give that a try someday.
whizz
Isn´t a demooner a solution to a non existing problem?

Ray Chonlatid
I had the same problem with mine. I had purchased it from Dillon and they replaced it. I also purchased from Dillon. But I live in Thailand. I have two of Demooners, and using the another. I repaired the old one as DougC advise. But did not try yet.
DougCarden
Hey Guys, my Jb weld broke! I just turned around the arm, cut out the notch for the spring, and redrilled the pivot hole, and dremeled it smooth on the round part that holds the moon. Give it a try! mikey357
...the "Tube-type" de-mooner, as sold by Tom Kilhoffer at moonclips.com and Brownell's, among others, doesn't seem to have the "Breakage" problem...FWIW....mikey357
EricW
They have an aluminum one now, I might give that a try someday. Who does? An aluminum version of the plastic one that keeps breaking? It would take virtually no effort to make steel/aluminum handles to replace those stupid plastic ones. If they won't do it, I will.
EricW
Never mind. I found it here: Super Demooner Tool (Scroll to Bottom of Page) Why Dillon is still selling the plastic one is a mystery. It has to be costing them a fortune in returns.
10mmdave
Welp......I gotta chime in here again, broke one arm off my plastic de-mooner years ago, seems that if you use it on the 8 shot moons you can push the whole thing up too far! (or if you grind away too much plastic to get 38 logs to fit) Well, it still worked, only one shell at a time, but ya know, it works better? and I can use it on my 7 shot Baumann conversions (anybody remember those ) Bought one of the Super de-mooners at the IRC this past year, I still like my broken one. pcschwenke
I've made aluminum ones do to the same reason. When I get time, I'll make a bunch of extras incase any one would like them. Problem is that I've been saying this for a year now. California Competition Works is the maker of the plastic and aluminum demooner. Paul
