FMJ or JHP?

I am now reloading for my STI Open gun that I will shoot next season. I plan on loading 124 gr but want to know if it is better to use JHP's or FMJ's. Either more reliable when loading? Can you give me some advice and reasons for each. Many thanks.

If your buying montana gold bullets, they now have a 9mm/.38 CMJ listed in both 124 and 115 grain. These are completely jacketed (no exposed lead at base) and have a roundnose profile. The roundnose should make them better feeders. Anyone try these yet?

For some reason MG FMJ's don't shoot nearly as well as MG JHPs for me. One of the bullet-gurus said that how JHPs are made actually improves their consistency over FMJs. Something to do with squeezing from the top vs squeezing from the bottom.
