jbc98c
I have an older sv 2011 open gun. has a slide mounted docter, shielded thumb safety, and hybricomp barrel. theres not a whole lot of room for a slide racker. i currently rack the slide from over the top. i feel like a *thumb rest [generic]* or thumb rest would get in the way. so, im trying to figure out a way to play with this and make it work. any ideas? Steve L
A slide racker can be put on the opposite side of the thumb rest. Take a top down view there may be enough room in front of the optic before the breechface
Parallax3D
Looks to me like there is plenty of room between the breachface and the current slide-mounted optic to dovetail for a slide-racker. If you're worried about space between the shielded thumb safety and the slide-racker, you could get one that is bent at an angle instead of straight, like an SVI slide racker. EkuJustice
A Right side racker works as well. I run a cheely short racker on the right side of the gun as I have a setback mount and there racker on the left side would hit the actual cmore its self. I just run it on the right side and it works well for me.
Aircooled6racer
Hello: There is enough room there for a *thumb rest [generic]* and a Shooters Connection racker on the left side. Thanks, Eric
jbc98c
i dont think there is room behind breech face. i didnt realize how that pic didnt show what it needed to. will post a top view when i get home tomorrow.
Parallax3D
Pic of my friend's, (Benos user ExtremeShot), last open gun that he built. As you can see, you can get fairly close to the breechface with the slide-racker dovetail. Edited May 28, 2013 by Parallax3D

Jaxshooter
You could mount the Doctor on a frame mount. Your frame is already drilled for one. Put the slide racker where your sight is and the thumbrest on the scope mount.
jbc98c
Think that is my only option? I really like having the dot so low.
kneelingatlas
One thing to think about if you put the racker on the opposite side from the thumb rest (or no racker at all) is how the pistol will balance on the thumb rest. When I take my racker off, the back of the gun tips to the table and the muzzle points skyward.
kneelingatlas
I shoot with a guy who has a gun set up like yours and he makes a fist and catches his index finger on the sight to rack it. I do the same thing with the rear sight on my CZ.
robot
You already have a nice big racker on that gun. The scope.
jbc98c
That is true. The only parts of the sight that aren't warrantied are the body and the glass though.
