razerok1
So this may be a dumb question but glock has recently released a beavertail backstrap that will be included with all gen4 models. Would it be legal to use these in production?
MrVvrroomm
Why would it be any less legal that any other backstrap that came with the gun?
razerok1
Why would it be any less legal that any other backstrap that came with the gun? That makes sense, I didn't look at it like that.
MadMadWorld
Available from the factory is good to go for production.
spanky
yeah, what they said. eta: of course, there is the question of whether it will fit in the box with the factory beavertail adapter. Edited March 6, 2013 by spanky
unclebud
This may have been brought up before, but I can't find it. Now that Glock is sending out new gen 4's with beavertail backstraps and now that you can order them from glock,( i ordered a set for my 34) will they be legal for USPSA production class ? sperman
I'm going to go ahead and merge these topics. I also made a small change to the title.
Chuck D
I imagine a g17 would fit in the box. A g34/35 might be tight though.
ericjhuber
I imagine a g17 would fit in the box. A g34/35 might be tight though. I hadn't thought about that. It's a stock part since they now shipping with Glock pistols, but that's a good point about the ability to fit into a box with the G34/G35 series. I'm a new competitive shooter. Will something come down from the USPSA folks on whether a G34, for example, with the Glock Beavertail will be considered "box acceptable"? Chuck Anderson
I'll see if the local Glock rep can come up with a braver tail for me to try out in the box and let you know. I'm not holding my breath though. Met with him about a months ago and they didn't even have one to show the Adv Arnorers course.
ericjhuber
I've got a request into my local Glock rep for one also so if I get one, I can do some measurements (I don't have a box) and report back here.
