DJCAREY
I want to get my 1911 chromed. I'd rather have a shop that had experience with guns do it. I just got an Edge from Dawson and it looks good. Anyone know who they use? If you've had it done and have pictures I'd like to see those too. Thanks
tohm
I was interested in having this done in the future and was recommended here, I have not seen or had them do any work for me but i am sure others will give you some feedback. http://www.apwcogan.com Tom
Glk21C
Apw did some magazines and a slide for me few years ago, great place.
trickpony
Techplate has always done good work for me.
al503
Dawson used to use Ford's a while back. Not sure if they still do or not, though.
warpspeed
I have used Techplate in Anaheim, CA in the past and was happy with the results. A lot of our local gunsmiths in SoCal use them.
anachronism
Metalife would be my first choice.

hvsmith
Ford's did my Open gun last year, excellent job, plus there is the original Metaloy who I have always seen great reviews & recommendations for.
Chris Keen
+1 APW did a LTD gun for me a few years ago, and it turned out awesome! I would recommend them again. http://www.apwcogan.com

DJCAREY
Have ya had APW do any gunsmithing for you. I was thinking about having them tighten up the slide.
pjb45
Techplate in Anaheim, CA has been used for several guns that were on the covers of gun magazines. I have had three guns done by them and one done by someone else who is very well known. The differences are apparent. I would not hesitate to use Techplate again and again. The better the gun is prepared the better the hard chrome is going to look. Don't get sloppy in this detail.
392heminut
I've had several guns done by APW over the years and never been disappointed.
rack&roll
APW has been doing it and also great gunsmithing and building for many, many years. They did it for many top gun companies. Bob Coogan is one of the best.
DJCAREY
On a 1911 would they chrome everything, like small internal parts, or do I just send them the larger exteral parts. I don't know how thick the chrome coating is so I'm wondering how the fit will be after it's done
