kneelingatlas
Are there any problems inherent in swapping a .40 barrel into a .45 1911? Switch to a .40 extractor? Thanks
buss544
The breechface is going to be too large for the 40...even with a new extractor. You'll need a new slide and you'll need to reload your 40 ammo long in order to get the ammo to feed
ltdmstr
In addition to the slide, barrel and extractor, you also need a new ejector. Other items that may need to be replaced include the firing pin (.40 slides typically use a smaller diameter) and slide stop (if you want it to function properly). steel1212
Possibly have to cut the frame for a ramped barrel if its not already ramp cut

wes777
you got it, either buy a 40 or order a svi slide with multiple breach faces, extractors, ejectors, firing pins, and slide stops for each caliber.
