Most open choke?

Some of it depends on the load and even choke style.

Diffusion chokes will throw the widest pattern, then cylinder followed by skeet, usually.

A bit of data for you for 10 yards:

#7.5 Winchester, Mod, 6" heavy center pattern

#7.5 Winchester, Diffusion, 11" spotty pattern

#9 Fiocchi spreader, Diffusion, 16" clumpy pattern

#9 Fiocchi spreader, Skeet, 15" even pattern

#9 Fiocchi spreader, Improved Cylinder, 13" even pattern

#9 Fiocchi spreader, Mod, 14" even pattern

#9 Fiocchi spreader, Improved mod, 15" even pattern

I have not tested a choke that gave an even pattern that was more open than skeet. I don't like holes in a pattern. If a target is traveling 90 to the shot string theoreticaly it shouldn't matter much, but it just doesn't sit well with me.

A stationary clay at 21 feet should be able to be hit with any choke constriction, but I think a skeet choke will provide an even pattern of a very generous size and would be a good choice.

As the perpetual "thrifty" shopper, I like your data on the spreaders, Mark. I'm going to get a few boxes of those for some testing w/ the Mod choke I already have.

Thanks for the help guys.

And Dan, if it weren't for the reloads, I think you'd be on to something!

Spreaders were originally made for skeet shooters who wanted to be able to keep their tighter choke but have another shot that opened up more. I have found spreaders from fiochhi to have more consistent patterns just as wide with ic and Lm as well
