gregshin
I got a G34 used and was wondering which parts i should replace so i can get it to almost to new like specs. Do i just get a new recoil spring assembly and be done with it or is there other parts i should have?
blacklab2011
Replace the sights if it still has originals, recoil spring, trigger springs & polish or drop in (vanek, glocktrigger etc.) and shoot away. Spend rest on Ammo.
Braxton1
About the only thing that you should HAVE to replace is the ammo, assuming that the previous owner didn't jack around with it too much. Glocks are great in that they just seem to run and run, absent amateur gunsmithing attempts....
Noximus03
absent amateur gunsmithing attempts.... You just named off about 90% of the board membership, lol!!!
Olivers_AR
Have a Glock armorer do the five tests on it and see what it needs. If you can get an approximate round count, can also point you in a direction, like recoil springs, etc.
Whitefish
Take it to a Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF) match and have one of the certified GSSF Glock armorers at the match go through it there - if you don't know a certified Glock armorer. They will go through the gun and restore anything to spec that isn't or is worn out. At least that has been my experience.
EkuJustice
I would replace the recoil spring with a 13/15 pound spring of your choosing, striker spring and trigger spring. They are cheap and if your not sure of the age may as well replace them. Anytime I buy a used gun I replace the springs.
