sandrooney
Thanks, Did you do anything else to the pistol ? I am having severe stove pipes. Thanks again, SR
Checo
I have 2 Steelmasters, both had ejection problems, but not anymore because each now has: Aftec extractor, polished internals, horizontal scope mount, full length guide rod, and 7# recoil spring. Now they run flawless, fast and with great confidence!
RocketCity1911
Try putting more tension on your extractor. Also, I shortened and put a slight downward angle on my ejector.
EkuJustice
I had a factory trubor that hung up constantly stove pipes feeding problems all the time drove me nuts especially at a match since I was waiting for an aftec. Once I put it in, it runs 100 percent. I wont shoot a 9mm 1911/2011 without one

j0s3ph
Who makes a guide rod that can be used instead of the recoil master?
RCC1
I really like the comminilli guide rod. That's what came in my millennium custom. You can purchase them from brownells , around $35. i think it's a great set up with cushions on both sides.

cecil
I am new to the STI pistols.. i just ordered one from Dawson Precision.. a Steel Match..i read on another site that the "large" spring had to be changed at 5,000 rounds.. is there any validity to this ? Jaxshooter
It is just like any other recoil spring. I change my open gun springs around 5-6000 rounds.
cecil
It is just like any other recoil spring. I change my open gun springs around 5-6000 rounds. a shooting buddy of mine has a Glock 19/3 that he bought as a "police trade in".. he did not have an idea how many times it was shot before he owned it.. but he swears he has shot 130,000 rds thru it after he acquired it.. and NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN CHANGED !! it still goes bang everytime..
