  1. Thanks to all for the feedback. Yes - turns out they have shipped me the incorrect ring. I tried the ring with 115gn round nose and it works fine with that. I did see my order form and it said 124 gn Montana Gold JHP which is what I wanted. Oh well. I'm glad they are shipping me the correct one.
  2. Hi - if this is not the correct location, please move... I have a GSI bullet feeder for the 650. My issue is the damn collator keeps on jamming on me. The bullets I have are the Montana Gold 124gn 9mm. I notice the bullets jam against the aluminum piece that holds the leather flap. This is their "newer" design that has the collator mounted on a separate pole/stand. I'm getting frustrated, about to call them soon, but wanted to see if any of you have issues with your collator?
  3. I'm looking for a thread protector for a Schuemann barrel. Thread size is 11/16-40. Does anyone know where I can get one? Thanks in advance
  4. I may be a little late on this, but do you run an extended ejector? If so, bevel the bottom so it does not touch a round with a loaded mag (slide and barrel removed of course). When I did that, my FTF issues went away. But looks like you've solved your issue
  5. Did you ever get it hard-chromed? If so who did you go with, and what was the turn-around time?
  6. Take a look at the before picture. You can see the end of the bushing peek through behind the slide cutout. Gary basically notched the bushing at that spot on both sides so it doesn't show through. Here's after I picked her up today FINALLY. The gun is still in-the-white. I'm going to send it off from hard chroming probably next week. One thing I wish Gary didn't do was bead blast the trigger. Ugh it was my fault for not being specific. I should have told him not to. Didn't think about it. Anyone know how to brighten up aluminum or know if APW can chrome that too? I tuned my mags today and only touched on the feed lips. They are within 1 thousandths of an inch on the preferred .355 front and .350 rear. It depends on how deep he blasted the trigger. Problem is that when he blasted the trigger, all of the anodized layer is gone. You get shine it up by sanding by going up in grit maybe starting at 500.
  7. What do you mean by "Gary trim down the bushing as well so it's hidden and not visible". How much did he take off?
  8. Okay - how long did you guys heat up the screw (from the inside of frame) with a pencil torch? I heat it up for about a minute and tried using an allen, but no luck

    Gun Case

Okay I have a stupid question. What hard case do you use for an open gun with a 90 degree C more?. I have this fear of using a regular pistol hard case and having the cmore not zeroed after doing so.
  10. I will be traveling to Vegas this weekend. Does anyone know where I can pick up some STI 170mm mag tubes? Thanks.
  11. Can anyone tell me what is the advantage of using a unique slide over a classic 5" slide when building an open pistol? Planning a 9mm major build.
  12. You need to grind down the thumb rest screws so it is flush with the inside of the dust cover. same thing happened to me
  13. This is another Michael Bay special effects-orgasm. The acting sucks, but I do love the action sequences. Growing up watching the cartoon, it was really cool seeing the dynobots

  15. I have been analyzing what Max M has been using for SC and USPSA. Two different pistols. His SC pistol is a Sig Sauer single stack, lightened slide with two port comp. I swear it looks similar to a Steel Master slide. He even posted pictures on FB of it.
  16. 8.0 grains of HS-6 with those 95 grain JHP. Lots of gas to work the comp
  17. Tula SPP for practice and CCI SPP for matches
  18. I ditched the recoil master that came with my pistol so I could use different spring weights. Try it and see for yourself. Some love it some hate it.
  19. Make sure your pistol is going to full battery. It can happen when using a light recoil spring and light striker spring. With your pistol empty, pull the slide all the way back and release the slide. Don't pull the trigger. Now check to see how much tension the slide has when lightly pulling back your slide. If it feels like the slide can easily pull back and fall out of battery, then you will need either a heavier recoil spring or a lighter striker spring. i had this dilemma when i built my Open XD.
