Benelli Ghost Ring rear, vent rib front

I have a Benelli M1S90 with ghost ring sights. I swapped out the barrel for a 21" vent rib barrel.

The gun shoots about 6" high at ten yards with the rear peep sight as low as I can get it.

Should I just remove that rear sight and use only the front bead? Other suggestions?

thanks!

Lose the ghost ring rear. The vent rib with bead only (fiber optic is better) is much faster for this game.

Thanks guys. I figured I'd be better off without the rear sight, but wanted to check.

I will lose the rear sight. I mean really lose it, because once I take it off I will put it somewhere that I will never remember and only find it when looking for something else.

2X4 Zip-Loc bags are YOUR FRIEND!!! And then they go in the toolbox drawer labelled "SHOTGUN".

Try without the rear sight - most 3-gunners get on better that way. I actually DO prefer a ghost ring rear because it forces me not to lift my head. If you want to persist with the GR, you can either make a raised platform (as I did on my Versa Max - photo below) or try the Williams Fire Sight which clamps right onto the vent rib and is about the right height.

Here is my front sight:

And here is the Williams Fire Sight (you obviously don't need the rear sight):

Tried removing the rear sight. The protective "ears" came right off, but the screw holding the actual sight on must be on there pretty good because my supposed high quality screwdriver snapped right off in the screw head. Looks like I'll have to take a small punch or chisel to get the piece of screwdriver out of the slot, then maybe put some heat to that screw to help loosen it. Anybody else taken one of these off and have any suggestions?
