I am using Clays, Titegroup, TruBlue powders. I am asking you guys if you have a favorite recipe for a soft shooting load.

I want to shoot the 45 in liminted ten but I want to enjoy it. Factory ammo is harsh.

Thanks for your help.

good shooting

if major, i have it written down, but not memorized. best not to guess at it.

I prefer a 200gn L-SWC, but many use a 230gn bullet.

I like a light target load of 3.5-3.7gn Clays, 3.8 or 4.8gn AA2, 4.1-4.4gn Red Dot, and 5.3gn 231/HP38.

I don't shoot 230gn, so I have no personal loads. I find that in a standard 1911 that 230gn bullets twist in my hand just enough to aggravate my arthritis in my wrists, so I stay with 200gn load.

You will have to find what works best for you.

3.9GN Clays under Berry's 230GN RN. Very soft.

This is one of my favorites too, but I need 4.1 and 1.260" to safely make major. For target shooting, I like 200 gn Montana Gold JFP with 4.5 or 4.6 of Titegroup very short at 1.225" COL. For both, I use a 13# spring but could probably use a softer one.

Great info on the loads and the data is much appreciated. I have two questions: Who is the manufacturer of the bullet in the data you provided? Can you tell me what the COAL of the loads you tested was?

Thanks again for providing this information.
