See you at TNS tomorrow ! It was a plesure to shoot with you the other day, wow, for only shooting as

long as you have your doing more then great.

As advice, all I can say is, can you play War Ensemble with your right arm, bicep, and wirst locked up as hard as it can be ?

If you dont break a string will you be able to finish the whole song ? :roflol:

Let the skills you have learned flow out and stop "trying". Try while practicing not during a match. We are all very guilty of this.

Going to matches just to focus on the classifier like that is a recipie for disaster, ask me how I know this ...

Shoot the classifier just as one of the other stages and let the chips fall where they may, that is the key to shooting to the top of "your" level, whatever that may be. While shooting, focus on the pressure of your grip, how clearly your seeing targets, how nicely your dot bounces, etc.. Anything other then speed, performance, outcome..

Remember, being a lead guitar player your already ahead of the pack because you know "how" to practice, it's just going to take some time. I think getting to the top of this game is as hard as learning to play Yngwie sweeps with your eyes closed. :roflol:

Ah hell, what do I know

Seeya!

LMFAO!!!! you have a great point. Yes it was a pleasure to shoot with you as well. Thanks for the kind words

Let's try to squad up tomorrow night!!! :sight:

On another note... I paid the $10 and got on the waiting list for Nats!!!

Not a good day at all... other than I still have my hand, gun and eyes. So it's 116 today, sinse I have a corp america job I have to leave my stuff in my baking hot car. I get to the range and get drawn for stage 1 squad... the classifer stage. No problem...walked up with a smile.

Shot the stage and did the reload squeezed the trigger and heard "pop" and not "Bang" so I stopped...I knew it was a squib. Unloaded and went to the safety area and tore the gun apart...sure enough...one more squeeze of the trigger and my gun would be junk.

2011-06-28_18-12-36_637.jpg

So I borrowed a squib rod and got it out...

2011-06-28_18-14-02_767.jpg

Function tested everything, drank some water ... got my head back and rejoined the squad on the qualifier. They let me do a reshoot which was cool, I said thanks. Standby..beep! Shot it and was doing good (for me anyways :roflol: ) shot first string, reload made it to the end and I called my last shot right shoulder and whammo...another no shoot on my classifer, I must have jerked the trigger again...so I didn't even turn it in. I packed up and left...

2011-06-28_19-30-01_53.jpg

I may be done with this classifier thing for a while as i'm just all frustrated with my shooting. I kill it at steel challenge and cactus combat and I must have shot 10 qualifiers in the last 2 months and only 2 have been clean...

Time for a shower, dinner and dryfire until summers over...then maybe i'll try another qualifier.

NOT HAPPY AT ALL RIGHT NOW!!

Randy, just a suggestion but shoot two matches and don't even look at your scoresheets. Seriously. Just shoot to shoot. Ask the RO not to say your time out loud and have a bud take your sheets for you. Concentrate on just the one shot your are squeezing off at each moment. (I know Matt has some saying around that.) When I started I was a low D and not because I was goofing up on classifiers. There is always a pressure at this point to satisfy our expectations or ego or to try to be at least closer to our buddies who can hammer a stage. It can be a frustrating time but only because of our expectations. Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt. Hell, I have clawed up to B, not that B is that high an achievement, and I still struggle with having expectations. I doubt it ever goes away. Anyway, try that for a couple matches and see how it feels.

Squibs..... bad.

Not blowing up gun.... good.

Just a thought, and it is late, so take it for what is worth. :-)

Neo... that is an Excellent idea!!!!!! Thanks my friend!!

Aren't they called Classifiers because they determine what Class you will be in?

Last time I checked..

Ok, dryfired for 1 hours last night left hand only..BRUTAL. Then did some reloading drills with the Pocket Pro II walking around the house dryfiring at the Cats and Dogs around corners. :roflol:

Heading to Prescott Sat to shoot the match in cooler weather. Rechecked all my ammo. Cleaned and scrubbed gun and checked it over 100%. Also double checked my rig... found 2 loose screws on my ghost holster so I took it apart and blue loctited everything same for my mag pouches as they were getting loose once a week.

Just got off the phone with Hodgdon and got Team Predator Tactical a sponsorship for powder. They have a great program and saves alot of money for sure.

New shirts look great so far. Just saw the 1st design artwork. :goof::devil:

Tonight, me and this baby will be making some anti-squib rounds as my bullet shipment just came in today!!!

Forgot to mention I got my 2009 Roadking washed this last weekend while out riding with some friends..

That was a good score at Rio. If you can be consistent you won't be in D or even in C. Although not always, Russel M beats me often and I am usually where you placed.

Matt couldn't make it last night... no biggie. Si I still went...

I should have stayed home...last time I shot that bad I was about 9 or 10 :roflol:

So...let's talk about stage 2 :roflol:

Easy ass stage, fast... 3 boxes, 3 plates, 2 on each.. so 1st time doing the stage I only shot plate 1 then went to box 2....oooooops

Fun run....hey Randy...do that again...OK! :surprise: hahahahaahahahaa

The whole purpose of the 2nd run through the stages was to do better...not make the same mistake twice on the same stage jackass!!! :roflol::surprise::angry2:

All my shots were low and I couldn't hit crap!!!, I put a pretty good dent on the lower plate rack, my good buddy Joe DePetro said all of my shots were way low. So I asked for some help to re-zero the dot. He had teh tools and helped a brotha out!! Gun was shooting 6" low and to the 3-4" to the right... so after that was done we had just enough time to shoot one more stage. :roflol:

So on the last stage now that the gun is shooting straight I realized 2 things.... i'm still hammering my trigger like my old Glock and my shooting on the move is like watching a crippled horse.

Glad I could help. I don't want to beat you because your sight is off, I want to beat you on your best day, if I can.

Last year I was classified B and had been for some time. I would beat B class shooters quite often and they would say I was sandbagging. The problem was that I was not so good at strong/weak hand shooting. I would also not always have my dot on target before pulling the trigger and just use makeup shots. This made me bad at Virginia count also. Then came along a string of classifiers that had movement, no SH/WH and Comstock. I am not winning my class anymore.

Like the other knowledgeable, experienced shooters here have said, don't worry about your classifier or score until the match is over, just shoot.

So do you continue to call them "Qualifiers" intentionally just to tweak people, or do you truly not know that they are "Classifiers" and that the two words are not synonymous? If you are are doing it on purpose, I fully support stirring up trouble  but if it is from a lack of attention to detail, that quality may bite you in the butt while trying to analyze and improve your shooting.

Thanks guys

Congrats on shooting the classifier clean. You will be leaving D in your dust in no time !

thanks brotha. I had a blast.

I've been dryfiring alot more with weak and strong hand, alot of classifiers have that so that is where I want to accel more than freestyle.

I've been watching re-runs of the Burkett DVD series. Seems like I miss little things every time I watch them. I've seen one DVD 3 times and still catch little things...I guess when I have them memorized like the movie Animal House lines...I can and will shoot better :roflol:

Started a diet, tired of being a fatass...

Breakfast bars in the AM

Salads for lunch

Chicken and Rice for dinner (or close to that)

No fast Food

No soda

Beer on fri/sat nights is gonna be the hard one... i'm starting with Mic Ultra this weekend, if that doesn't help i'll switch to grey goose and cranberry. If I have to stop drinking to get the fat off I will.

I'm also buying a bike this weekend.. I have a Harley but need the pedal version for this mission. :roflol:

6'4" and I was up to 330lbs. Now i'm 308lbs as of this morning. 250 is the goal for now... then 230...then 210. I imagine i'll shave off the first 30-40 fast, after that is where the gym will come into plan.

I have 6 screws holding my right ankle togther sinse a car wreck in 1990 so I can't run for shit anyways which is how I gained all the weight in the first place, I was 210 before the wreck and gained 100lbs over 20 years, now I want to loose it in a year or less if i can... I was in the hosptial for 57 days because I had 6 surgeries on my ankle (4 they reopened the same scar and 2 were orthoscopic), 3 on my face and chest from eating the winshield and steering wheel. I've had 4 more on the ankle sinse that wreck to clean bone spurs and arthritus. Shattered the Talus Bone and shredded every tendon in my ankle...which is why I can't run very well.

I'm hoping with the weight loss, my ankle will hurt less...

Just started biking myself. I like it so far. I use to run, but it just kills my joints anymore. Good luck in your efforts.

I'm 6'4" and right now I'm about 230. I'd love to get below 215, so biking it is!!!!
