Thanks brotha!!

I don't really get to practice live fire drills or anything like that as I don't have a range in my backyard or keys to a range to use at will. So, on thursdays I either can do thursday night steel at PRG or Cactus Combat up at Avery. I do as many dryfire drills at home though and reloading drills.

So last night I switched things up a bit. I had 400 rounds of WAY SUB MINOR LOADS just stitting there doing nothing. So i went to PT yesterday to see if my barrel for my Banshee was in yet and asked for some help setting up the FG to shoot minor, Lynn gives me a 7lb recoil spring and says... have fun. :roflol:

147gr Zero

3.0 Titegroup

1.120 OAL

Needless to say I didn't have to walk far to collect my brass as it was all in a neat little pile inside the shooting box. There was barely enough umph to get the bullet out of barrel and through the comp much less get the empty case of the ejection port. I put the 7lb recoil spring in the Glen Gun, it coughed, hacked and choked trying to run the first 2 mags and then like an old Model A it farted and ran like a clock. I can't say enough good stuff about the Frank Glen Open Gun I got from Jigger, this thing has never failed ever... only the ammo i created for it. I'm gonna miss it, my Banshee will be done next week.

So shooting sub minor loads out of a full size open gun was nothing i've ever done before, it's a completly different feel. All the stages were speed shooting, the gun worked great considering what I was forcing down it's throat... :roflol:

Rick Denton, Joe DePetro and Brian Green, I can't say enough great things about these 3 guys. They are just a pleasure to shoot with, great guys and a wealth of knowledge... I learn something every week from them. Needless to say I really enjoy shooting with them. Joe and Brian, to bad their Cameron Guys... but I won't hold that against them. LMFAO!!! :roflol:

Rick Shoots the CZ Chechmate Open...man that is a sweet blaster!!

Bill Barron and Kurt Arnold from Team Predator Tactical were there as well, they get there alot earlier than me but at least i got to waive as they left when I arrived...

Rick, Joe and Brian - Green

Team Predator Tactical - Blue

Me - Red

Well I just realized how much of an idiot I am..

Sat and this morning classes started at 7:30....if I would have gotten to Rio at 6:55 I could have been first and shot the Classifier stages both mornings and still went to class... :roflol:

Drove to Precott this morning...should have stayed home in bed, my ankle was already swollen when I woke up and could barely walk much less run. I over did it in Williams yesterday. :roflol:

5 Stages, 2 were clean, rest were a bloody shambles.. :angry2::roflol:

Battery went dead in my C-More 2nd stage(shot first 2 stages with a barely glowing dot)thanks to a fellow squadmate, he had extras and let me buy one off him. I ordered 3 batt's last week, should be here tuesday.

Last stage, Loaded my Barney Mag on accident :roflol: , forgot to turn the dot on. Broke a Follower in my bigstick after the 4th round. Those damn Bolen followers are great but they snap easy. It turned into a box of chicklets. That stage I had 3 FTE and a crapload of penalties.

Vid Cam glasses died...they're dead, won't record, play, show up on C Drive. Power on but all buttons are dead, they have a 30 day warranty...pffft. I've had them 3 months. Great!!

Ankle was preventing my from sprinting...not good. I've got ice on it now as I lay on the couch typing this...

Cell phone vids

RUN FATASS RUUUUUUUN!!! :roflol:

I am down 17lbs now.... only 50 more to go

Those batteries can be hard to find. Try 2 357's. Get them anywhere in 3 packs so I buy 2 packs at a time. Just get the polarities right and your gold! I've been running 2 batteries at a time for over 5 years. I even think they last longer than the singles.

The good news is it all happened at a single match. You could have spread them out over several. LOL!

I didn't count the rounds on your second vid. Did you forget the reload or did you have enough in the big stick for the stage and just run dry due to the extra shots? If the latter I make it a habit on stages that end on Texas Deathstars or small steel to work a reload in. Nothing makes time go rushing past you like a standing reload. The big boys can plan on going one for one but at C/B it ain't always a sure thing.

Thanks Trax, I'll do that for sure, much appreciated!!!

Oh make no mistake, i'm an idiot. I forget that the bigstick isn't belt fed. :roflol:

I got lost in the stage as the 2 far away targets have windows you can shoot them through or you can just run to the end and lean and take them out.. I was worried about getting those 2 from the end and forgot to reload :roflol:

Burkett Called, my Banshee should be done this week... YAY!!!!!!!!!! CAN'T WAIT. Heading to the shop on my lunch break to talk to Lynn about my trigger. Needless to say, this thing will smoke!

I'm going to sell the Glen Gun and order a Wraith for Thursday Night Steel in Minor so I can work with a Lighter gun and have matching guns with the same builder and also use it as a backup for major matches. I'm stoked to be on Team Predator Tactical.

I've been dryfiring 1/2 hour a day with the Open Gun, then 1/2 hour with the Shadow. I'll never get to shoot production worth a crap until I get my eyes fixed so kind of a bummer but it is what it is. I'm going to see if CZ can switch out the rear sight on it to a rear fiber optic sight, I love the gun and want to shoot it in Production pretty bad.

Got new Batteries for the Dot in the mail today, my Epic Failure in Prescott this last weekend will never happen again!! (as far as the dot goes LOL)

Shot a 44% on my classifer (cmcalc) this last weekend on "Any Given Sunday" had 1 Mike on the far target as I tried not to switch sides on the barrier. I thought I called the shot leaning around the barrier... guess not. 6.44 seconds. Time was good, the Mike killed me, if I would have got it I would have gotten a 77%...damn it! :roflol:

At least it will kill one of my 4 high 20% scores LOL

Shooting with Joe Bridgman and Chad Rielly tonight at SGC.

Went back to shooting major loads, I shoot them better than minor for some reason. I want to switch my trigger to a short flat style instead of round.

I need to load some 124gr Titegroup rounds for my CZ Shadow Custom so I can do some Clasifiers in Production as well. I bought a 2nd belt to make my Production rig, still need 2 more CR Speed versa pouches and 1 more CZ Mag to be complete.

I wonder how many Open Guys shoot production as well and only have 1 press, how many rounds do they load at a time for each PF so they don't have to keep changing the press every week or 2 weeks.... I want to try Autocomp and HS6 in minor so all I have to change is the Powder and the OAL.

NICE! Dude you're improving ridiculously!

Thanks brotha!

I watch the Burkett video's all the time and dryfire everyday, even if i'm at the reloading bench i'll throw on the dvd's and just listen while I reload. Hearing the same thing over and over and over with doing the same with dryfiring...has improved my overall game the last 3 months. This forum alone with everyones tips has also been a contributing factor as well....

I keep reminding myslef, I haven't been doing this for years like alot of guys... I started in April 2011 that way I don't get too upset with myself when I tank a stage or have problems, i'm still getting everything dialed in..mainly my eyes, the dot, trigger control, grip and reloads... those are my main focus points right now. Stage planning is also starting to make it's way into the picture.

Thanks again Donovan

Shot SGC last night. Joe didn't shoot, man he looked tired that place is wearing him out!

I think I did very well overall, I did have a couple Mikes and hit one no shoot, but overall it was the first match where I called about 85/90% of my shots while keeping the speed at full throttle.

I got a promotion at work yesterday after I posted yesterday which was pretty cool. But my new position requires me to travel a little now. I work for a Major Bank in the FHA Division. Funny thing is I shoot Colorado State Championship 7/30 and 7/31 and flyout to Dallas for Training for a week the same day I get back from Colorado on 8/1. Come back the 8/5, then leave for Lancaster CA from 8/8 until 8/12. But after that no travel for a while.

For Colorado my game plan is to slow down and call 100% of my shots and not have any mistakes, mikes or no shoots. Even if my time is alot slower, I want to dominate C Open by points.

Got a New Contour HD Camera Courtesy of Team Predator Tactical sponsorship deal... got it mounted to my ears and did a test video in my poorly lit reloading room, vids on my YT page.

I'm excited about the new position though, got a Company CC and a Laptop, gotta get a haircut and have my suits dry cleaned for the trips....

I hate wearing suits..

Gun Ran flawlessly last night as usual. Went home and cleaned it then dryfired for 20 minutes then went to bed at midnite..woke up at 5:45 to come to work...

Shooting tonight at PRG (which I am now a member of) and i'm taking the weekend off from eevrything and just going to chill..even though I want to go shoot at Rio Saturday morning at 7 am with Joe Bridgman hahahahahahahaaa

Maybe i'll just take Sunday off... :roflol:

Shot at PRG last night with Joe and Brian as usual.. I put up 2 vids on my YT page..

I was wondering why I had a couple mikes on Wed at SGC and last night everything was way low... Joe said all my shots were low, we both thought it was me jerking the trigger...so I had Joe shoot my gun...it wasn't me, dot must have lost zero because Left to Right was dead on...but it was shooting 6" low or so at 20 feet...

I'm at the point to wear i'm calling my shots but was having misses... I think last night was confirmation when Joe shot the gun, then I did and drilled the same spot 10 times in a row....

I'll rezero that badboy this weekend for the Colorado State Championship next weekend.

Not shooting any matches this weekend other than Zero the Dot. I'm going to dryfire until my finger falls off all week and reload 600 rounds for the trip.

Got the new Contour HD Camera... new vids are cool!!!!

I have no doubt that your load change did change you POI and that your sight did not move. On some load changes my POI changes and some others it does not.

On Stage 1 (The stage with the lattice walls) I was running the board and thought that you only took one shot at the second square plate, but the wall was obscuring my view. When I watched you video we could definitely see that you only took one shot.

Exactly... I saw that as well :surprise:

I thought it was a Circle at first then rewinded and realized it was a square...oooops :roflol: Can't wait to get my eyes fixed..

Yeah I totally forgot that when you zero'd the dot... I was shooting the SUB-minor loads (147 gr zero w/ 2.9gr Titegroup) then went back to major and then couldn't hit a damn thing!! I checked the set screws last night.. all tight, it didn't move.. it's all POI.

I'll adjust that this weekend..

Thanks again for your help and insight, your help is greatly appreciated my friend!!!

Rick, sorry we didn't get to chat... wasn't being rude but I was already 15-20 minutes late..once again, sorry my friend!!

Found out I don't have to go to Lancaster now.....YAY!!!!

Still go to Dallas next week for work, also found out what my new job is...i'm pretty stoked.

COLORADO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP This weekend. I can't wait. My first Big Match... :surprise:

Got the dot all zero'd tonight at 10 yards, then 20... it's lookin good!!! (Too bad I had to wait until the USPSA Match was over to do it.. :roflol: ) Good thing was, the Classifier (or qualifier as I call them... LOL) was "Can You Count" you all know what that one is..total hoser and I loved it! CMCALC has my run at 71.18% which I will take.

Still planning on making "B" by Jan 1st.... If I can make B by 2012 with only 8 months of doing this and shooting Open and going up against those guys scores... i'll be a happy man.

My first classifier was recorded 5/03/11 * CM99-59 PHOENIX ROD AND GUN CLUB 26.4704% entered 5/12/11

3 months now is when I started USPSA or so and I shot a 71% Today.... I'm Good with this for sure!

I am having a blast, meeting great people and making new friends...

LIFE IS GOOD!
