2nd Annual Topton 3 man 3 gun team match

Recommended Posts

Attention all shooters. After last years great match I keep getting emails about the 2011 3 man team event. The date will be Sunday june 19th. With a limited number of slots available to shoot with staff on sat the 18th. All entry forms, waivers and basic rules info will be posted on toptonfga.org in the ipsc section in the next few days. Last year the match filled up quick and we shot over 70 teams and over 225 shooters in a one day format, and had the prize table completed and everyone heading home around 6pm. The match fee has increased to $225.00 per team, but so will the cash payout. Last year we gave out over $15,000.00 in cash and prizes and I expect to do much better this year. We are still looking for a match sponsor, adn stage sponsors, but hope to have some of that confirmed over the next few months. This year it will not be a zombie styled match, so regular uspsa style targets will be used. Please make sure your team sends all waivers, and forms plus one check for entry together. If your team wants to shoot with another team make a note and send it along with the other teams members names. If anyone has any questions let me know. Good luck, hope to see many of you at Ft. Benning in a few weeks.

thanks

Dean

The match is a true team event.

Some stages are shot as a relay with each shooter shooting a portion of the course of fire with a firearm and then tagging another member to shoot their portion.

Some courses are shot as a rolling thunder style event, in which all three members are on a common firing line and shoot at the same time.

Time plus scoring.

Some running is involved especially in the relay stages, and all shooters will have to shoot each type of firearm sometime throughout the match.

Last year we filled up quick and I am hoping that it will be the same this year. Anythign from 5yds to 200.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Ask around anyone who shot the match had a blast.

thanks

dean

Do you have to send the waiver form in with the application or can it come in a little later after the entry form was sent in? Just asking as it's tough to get it in with people from different states who have to mail it to each other to sign.

you can send in the waiver seperately, just put down who else is on your team so it is easier for me to keep track of who has all their stuff in.

We are gonna take about 70-80 teams total sunday, with some being able to shoot with staff on sat if sunday fills up.

What's the format? Do all 3 team members shoot different divisions?

Jesse,

There is only one division, tactical, although, Dean will let some of the open rifle stuff to be used.

The match is shot as relays, and this year, one stage was a Mad Minute....everyone at once 3 different guns, rifle, pistol shotgun. The match was a blast!

As I said in an earlier post, the getting a commited team together is usually the hard part.

Heres some videos of 3 geezers... :roflol:

Damn that looks like fun!!! I don't know if I can handle letting 2 other guys down though. Its bad enough when I am just pissed at me after the match. :angry2:

Dean and all his help put on fun matches. They're worth the 5 hour drive for me. Your drive would be much longer.

Glad to hear it, Dean! Last year's match was awesome, but I think I'll enjoy the format even more with IPSC targets.

This is honestly one of the best matches I have attended all year, this match is NOT TO MISS.

The team event adds yet another element in stage breakdown and most of all, its a ton of fun.

I won't miss this match and you shouldn't either. Its that good.

I told Dean if he held the match again Noveske would send 3 of something good for the prize table. Count on it.

Mike,

This match is worth it! Who are the other 2 for the team?

Matt and possibly Steve, 2 other guys that don't shoot iron sights :roflol:

Steve used to. :roflol: You did see that Saigas aren't allowed? And no speedloaders?
