Eaa large frame 9mm(conv)

Recommended Posts

I just completed my project of making the Large frame goldteam in 9mm.

I have a complete mags in 3x140mm and 1x170mm and it works perfectly, chambers

and no nose dive. I would like to know how many will be interested.

Thank you.

YA, I'm interested Ed show us at least 28 in a mag and run the gun withe a few mags and then we'll talk...

I have a Gold Eric that has been in the safe for over a year waiting............

Get this right and set me up with two big sticks and four 140s and you have Quinns for life. lol

I will do it!I'll keep everyone posted. I will push to fit a 9mm barrel

next week. If my buddy shoots with his Eaa tomorrow, I will take the video then..

I have no doubt this will not run as I have tuned many mags.

Once I have the bullets come up evenly and strong, it runs 100%

The fact that there is no space between the bullets,

there will be no nose dives. Since I'm using +10 wolf springs,

I know that the spring will last and this will be reliable!

I'm playing with Grams springs with the followers now.

I am interested but its honestly relative to cost of the work on the mags. my super mags load perfectly and run perfectly without tuning.

Yeah, but imagine shooting and not picking up brass!!

that is heaven.. :)

I already do that with my 2 STIs. :P

Could the same process be used to make the .38 Super magazines more reliable?

Will only work with 9mm. I have used Henning's grams followers and they

are not consistent with reload brass on 38s,problems, nose dive. Per Henning it works well with new brass.

I agree..I have used new brass and no issues but reloads after 3x or 4x, brass are no good. Undersize egw will help

but will have to modify that also.

All my mags in 140mm and 170mm works 100% in my super.I do use 38sc and 38TJ to get more rounds.

I did have to tune the mags. I'm excited about the 9mm. Soon no more picking up brass in practice!

I do off course will shoot my super in Big matches only.

I think a lot of people are curious as to what these mags are? Totally home-made? Modified from another magazine? What is the cost?

I think these questions need to be answered before people will say whether they are interested or not..

They work FLAWLESS!! I'm trying to get in touch with my friend

that took the video! it works!with my modified follower, 170mm 27+1 140mm 21+1 this is VERY reliable.

I have tried Grams follower for Tans. You can get 29+1, even 30+1 on 170mm and 23+1 on 140mm

but I'm not comfortable with the way the bullets come up.THEY WORK..but I need more time to work on it.

I will post the video as soon as possible.

as soon as I get it.

OK. This first video I shot the stage to run dry so you guys can see the 170mm

works, then I had it run dry and loaded the 140mm and shot that till its dry!

Cool.

I've been having issues with my .38 Super lately. After reloading the brass I get the nosedive issue with all my magazines, except the 27 rounder. The design of the feed lips is completely different with the 'big stick' and it has a narrower channel at the top so the 1st round sits directly on top of the 2nd. I'm not sure why Tanfoglio don't make all their magazines like this.

I suspect your 9mm magazines look very similar.

Thank you Britin! I have updated the link.

My Large frame 38 super has my modified follower on it. All bullet stack up

with with no space under, but Grams, it has space under the bullet and don't like it.

it will nose dive on a bad day..

I also put my modified follower on the 9mm mags. Don't like the way bullets come up when

I put on grams follower, but it can fit 30+1 and 23+1. Just not reliable I think?

Hope this helps.

:surprise:

I use the Grams kits for the TZ mags, you do have to adjust the mag some= I use to 1/4 dia nylon rods and tape

them in the mag "V" indentions, Then I put 8 rounds in the mags, put the mag in the vice with aluminum

vice jaw inserts and put the mag in the groves of inserts with the rounds pointed so you can watch them I squeeze

the mags so the second round moves more under the top round for support and Make sure the bottom rung/coil of the mag spring

is down in the front this helps to support the rounds against the followers.

I also do this with some of the caspian new mags. They are made by the same company as the TZ.

Infact Ive been using the TZ mags in my Caspian forty for years, they are easy to recontour the top

of the mags to fit the caspian frame.
