boz1911
Already know of several shooters (including TSCR members) that are not attending today's match. Wonder why?? Today: Isolated showers, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 8am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and frequent lightning. Partly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 106. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%

Modoc
Boz, we cancled the Cowboy match last weekend because the Pre-heat indext temp was going to be 106 Add to that all of the Public ranges are closed by 12-noon due to fire danger I really hate that Now we have daylight to shoot, we can't because of the heat. High Lord Gomer
We only had 15 show for our monthly USPSA match yesterday (normal is 15-25). It did help us get finished more quickly.
boz1911
Four bottles of water and two bottles of powerade, and that really wasn't enoigh. Indeed a brutal day, but about thirty shooters braved the conditions. For those that don't know much about Cool Springs gun club, it's basically in a swamp (to help with the humidity) and the ground is primarily white sand (to help reflect the suns rays). My hat's off to the shooters that attended today.

Will_M
We just broke a record in Mississippi. Our heat index was 115 a couple Fridays ago. It's unbelievable.
