You can achieve the same look with a weld on magwell, without buying a new frame.

I'm pretty sure I've seen non-caspian guns with a similar design magwell. (Part of it welded to the frame, with an extension on the MSH.)

Ed Brown used to make the maxiwell, EGW makes a weld on and Heinie

make one like that.

The EGW does look a lot like that. I wonder who makes the longer main spring housing (Caspian?)

it may not be a longer main spring housing, sometimes they cut the frame to make the magwell fit, that would be my guess.

Rob is most likely correct. I think it was in 1990 I had the Ed Brown weld-on put on and they cut the frame 1/4" before welding it on and then re-drilled the MH hole. Makes for a clean look!!

2nd photo is a weld on magwell. by the cutout in the front for the mag you can tell.

frame is cut and part is welded on and dressed out and finished.
