bclemans
I am looking for info on reloading using Berry's 124 grain copper plated bullets in 9mm and using Bullseye powder. Should I use FMJ load data for these bullets? Also what is a good grain to use for the Bullseye powder to get a nice light load that will make minor power factor shooting out of a Glock 17? The Bullseye powder web site says to use 4.4 grains for a 124 grain Gold Dot HP bullet. Is this a max load they show and if so should I start at 10% less to start which would be right at 4.0 grains? Any insight or experience would be welcomed. Thanks
twodownzero
Start with lead data on plated bullets. Solo 1000 or VV N320 seem to be the top choices for powders here.

flycaster
The FAQ's area of the Berry's website says to start with low FMJ loads, and work up slowly if necessary. BTW- the OP asked specifically about Bullseye. Any help there? Unfortunately, the Alliant Powder site isn't much help. Steve S
For many years I ran a 122 grain lead bullet with 3.8 grains of Bullseye. This would run about a 135 PF from my Sig 226. I don't remember the OAL I was running. I've had great luck with Bullseye.
MemphisMechanic
Did you get a screaming deal on these components or something? You can get real jacketed bullets much cheaper than plated berrys. (I just picked up 3k of 124 precision deltas for $207) You can load softer-recoiling powders (solo1000, n320, titegroup) under a plated bullet. WestWorld
I sometimes run 4.0 to 4.1 grains of Bullseye under a 124gr plated round nose. OAL at 1.145 (Round Nose) gets me about 1050fps out of my SP-01. A very accurate load for me.

redmanfixit
4.1 gr Bullseye with 124 gr whatever! Plated, jacketed or hard cast (heavy on the hard if you don't want leading). I'm old. Been shootin Bullseye for a long time. Usually I can find that when there's shortages on everything else, so far. In the wheel gun days it was the hot setup with a 158 gr wad cutter (3.5 gr) for cheap practice ammo. I run the 124gr through a bunch of different short and long 9mm's. It was a standard for .45 ACP at 5gr behind a 230 gr slug. Recoil impulse was a bit crisp but they ran nicely and were accurate. N320 indeed!
