  1. Mitch-a-nator, care to try it again with me this year?
  2. Steve, I will miss you in open.....................that gun is pretty awesome though.
  3. Dave, i think you might be interested in it. BTW, nothing against the DAA, It is a fine holster. this one just works better for me.
  4. Dave, I will be the first to admit that i am not the best photographer. i think the holster is pretty darn slick and i can understand everyone's concern about this or that. A picture or video just doesn't really represent it. To hold one, install one, and use one is just another story. For me, the CR Speed simply just jabbed my thigh and restricted my movement and let's face it, was not the most secure holster. I liked the DAA at first but for "ME" If I didn't draw perfect each time, it would get hung up on something. I was pondering switching back to the CR Speed because of that. Universal Pro Shops new holster really addressed all of the issues I had. Nothing sticks or jabs me, when it is all screwed down, nothing will ever move on you (My DAA had a habit of that) . And your gun comes out clean and smooth reliably each and every time while the magnets secure the gun while unlocked. to me, it's substance is what also makes it. It just plain "feels" good to reholster. You have the sense of security on a solid platform. I put the pictures out there to just simply inform people that there is another viable option. as usual in this sport, it's what works for you.
  5. How about a pic??? So sorry about that. I started a new thread in a more appropriate category. It's here. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=145268&st=0&p=1630821&hl=manny&fromsearch=1entry1630821
  6. Here are some more photos of the holster from the positioning angles. you can get any angle you want. Again, I cant say enough, 3 locking screws for each position. I like it!
  7. I would really email or call manny for a left hand version . I know he is making several models for different guns but ask him for the specifics. As for a comparison to the daa, I have officially retired mine. I liked it but, if I didn't draw exactly right, it would get caught up. The magnets with manny's prevent that. It really is a pretty nice holster. You just need to touch and try it. You will see what I mean.
  8. I dont think it is on his web site yet but, contact him there. http://universalproshop.com/
  9. I wanted to share some photo's and accolades with Manny's new holster. This is a unique holster as it address's the draw of the gun more so than any other holster I have seen or had. The lower photo shows a picture of 2 rollers BUT, they are magnetized which properly holds your gun in place which allows the wider tolerance around the trigger guard. the result is that no matter your angle of draw, the gun comes out and because there is no resistance, it feels like butter each and every time you draw. My other holster brand would get caught up if you didn't draw it out perfect straight. This holster has substance, the "feel" when you holster your gun is that of obvious substance and not plastic. there's nothing wrong with plastic, I just like the feeling of this better. Similar locking style to other with same appearance and the lock is confident. the other thing I like is that the positioning of the holster is easy and the locking it down is very nice as there 3 locking points for each position. It will never come undone accidentally. I think it is a pretty cool holster and if you going to the Florida Open, check it out.
  10. Well, the universal pro shop isnthe manufacturer and it is brand new. No pictures on the web yet. I can take a picture of mine and post tomorrow. If you email manny maybe he has a preliminary picture to send. All I can say is that it solves all the problems and little compromises I have had to put up with.
  11. Btw For all of those going to the match, check out Mannys new holster. It is the total solution. Your gun draws from the holster like none I have seen before. I have one and will officially hang up my DAA and CR speed.
  12. q tips and windex. I carry it with me in my range bag and clean the scope before every stage.
  13. You know, after reading this thread, the one word that came to my mind the most was EXACTLY what Kevin mentioned here. "SANCTIONED" This is not a one sided topic of ranges having all the power. If you are a range and your desire is to "host" a "SANCTIONED" USPSA match, then the USPSA rules only apply. Let's not forget all of the revenue that this sport brings to the range. So it should not be a consideration of "like it or lump it" because quite frankly, i would choose "lump it" and move on to a range that wants to earn money from our sport. ok, I said my $.02 so please , let the bashing begin................................. also, BTW, how would an Arbitration committee handle a case if i was DQ'd because I touched an empty mag at the safety area where the local range has a sign not to?
  14. Go here http://swfps.com/ Sandy runs the Naples Swamp Rompers and the Fort myers club shoots out there also. There is always a match on the weekend and then during the week.
  15. RIP Rocco. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
  16. I completely disagree. How can stage design be responsible for an AD? Also, aren't all 180's pointed back at the crowd?
  17. I am certainly sorry that you were disqualified but I can say that 100% of the people who were, earned their DQ. As for people moving faster then their ability, well, I certainly witnessed it first hand from Masters and Even GM's . Wide open targets are so tempting to shoot fast and move that I think people forget that it takes the same amount of time to shoot two A's versus a restricted target. Every Level III match has challenging stages (as it should be). At Nationals last year, I could name off at least 6 stages that were 180 traps "IF" you didn't pay attention. that's just part of the sport. Again, 180 violations were less then half of the disqualifications. the more serious concern to me is why there were so many Accidental Discharges from all classes of shooters.. A bullet fired not aimed at a target is a SERIOUS concern.
  18. Actually, 180 violations were less then half of the 31 dq's. A level III match should be more difficult in every aspect of the sport. This match was no different. Wide open targets can be deceiving. Mental errors usually cost us all something and sometimes a disqualification.
  19. That's a nice looking squad photo! Do you have any videos to share from youtube for the Area 3 website?
  20. The majority of the DQ's were due to people earning them. What that means is Accidental Discharge, dropping a gun from the holster, Accidental Discharge on Reload, sweeping your self, etc..... The 180 violations were within the normal level and really it wasn't about stage design or setup. These stages were not "stand and shoot" so all of the basic safety rules apply. 31 DQ's seems like a lot but, you just don't expect Masters and GM's to have AD's. etc.... etc.....
  21. We are adding video's to the USPSA 3 web site and would like to include yours. If you have a video of yourself by stage (not a compilation) then please PM me the link with stage number (youtube or something like that) and we will add it to the site. thanks for your help.
  22. I think there were a significant number of 180's too. I know stage 3 was fairly easy to get a 180 DQ on. I know I may have sucked in my finish. (64th in open, due to several jams with my gun), but at least I didn't DQ in my first level 3 match. Then again, there are two types of shooters, those who have DQ'd and those who will. There were much fewer 180 violations versus AD's or dropped guns. The AD's definitely dominated the DQ list.
  23. Let it be known to all who read that Mitch is the total class act. He knew what he did and he owned his mistake and took it like the man he is. I am proud to say that he was my squad mate and that I got to make a new friend. You're and awesome competitor and a stand up guy. You have my total respect. I would really like to squad again with you.
