  1. Silly canuks and their collars I need something to cover my red neck!
  2. I'd buy a T-shirt but my preference would be for a golf style shirt with collar.
  3. I'm guessing that you're referring to mine! I look forward to meeting you.
  4. My registration form and cheque went out in yesterday's mail....
  5. Excellent! You can expect my match application shortly after you make them available. This will be my first trip to New Mexico!
  6. Does that include current military other than US? I'm a currently serving member of the Canadian Forces.
  7. I think I may just have to come down to this match. Will there be a prize for furthest travelled?
  8. IIRC, IPSC NS is affiliated with USPSA (or at least they were at one time). You might want to get a hold of them about getting classified. Failing that, there are two affiliated clubs in Maine and more in Massachusetts. I regularly drive to Montana, Idaho and Washington to shoot USPSA matches (6 to 8+ hours each way driving time)
  9. No, it's not automatic. If there are enough GM's in your division, and you shoot to a higher percentage (say you're a B shooter who finishes at 75%+), then that would bump you to A. If you win your class at your Area championship, you also get a slot. R, Bart Class? Are you sure it's not Division?
  10. Having the slide fail to lock to the rear when the gun is empty is a malfunction. Having to pop that magazine out of the gun, insert a fresh mag and then rack the action to get a round into the chamber is rectifying that malfunction, thus no requirement to retain the empty magazine. Really in this scenario you're just doing the same thing you'd normally do with an empty gun in the IDPA emergency reload (pop out the empty mag in the gun, let it hit the ground and leave it there, insert a fresh mag into the gun) but with the extra time penalty of then having to rack the slide instead of simply thumbing a slide release. This is lot different than a time saving speed reload. A related example would be when the slide locks back with rounds still in the magazine. An SO tried to give me a PE for 'leaving a partially loaded mag behind' but I explained to him that I was clearing a malfunction and cited the same passage from the rule book above.
  11. All but Open. I shot a special classifier match in Limited with Gallatin Action Shooters earlier this month but the scores haven't been input yet. I'm a solid 'C' class shooter in SS, L10, Production and Revolver. I suspect I'll be a 'C' in Limited too. One of these days I'll have to borrow a race gun and get classified in Open to complete the 'set'.....
  12. The only time I shot in L10 was at a special classifier match at the Bigfork Gun Club in April. I shot my S&W1911 (.45 ACP) with Wilson 10 rd mags. BTW, I classified 'C' at that match.
  13. You'll find the answer on page 3 of the link below. http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/Intro.pdf
  14. Received my trophy (1st Single Stack C) in yesterday's mail. Thanks Tim! Massimo
  15. Just finished Day 1 of the USSA Competition Handgun Course with Mike Seeklander. Learned a buch and Mike is an excellent instructor. Really lookig forward to Day 2 and then shooting the match under Mike's tutelage and watchful eye on Friday.
  16. I used to run a S&W 5906 in IPSC Production Division. On the LAMR command, I would initially load the chamber with a 'Barney Mag' with one round in it. I would then hand the empty mag to the RO and tell him/her that I would need it at the end of the stage. (I would then finish loading with a mag filled to capacity) This ensured that the RO knew it was a empty mag that I was insertig to drop the hammer. This worked well for me and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend other shooters running guns with a mag disconnect to do the same.
  17. It's 14:26 MDT and I just checked the USPSA website for the umpteenth time for Match Results. http://www.uspsa.org/mr/match_index.php?year=2010&match=2010_Area_4 It says "These results were uploaded 05/24/10 12:05 (Central Time)" (almost 3 1/2 hours ago) but when I click on my name the results from only four stages are listed; which is what was posted Friday evening! I had to leave early to catch a plane. I'd like to know how I did. Are they posted somewhere else?
  18. Sitting in the departure lounge at the Calgary International Airport waiting for my flight. Will arrive in Shreveport this afternoon. This will be my first trip to Louisiana. I'm quite excited!
