Quick question on your training. Do you have a trainer who helps you out with schedule (ie heavy days vs light days) or is that something you do on your own? My PT consists of running 2 to 3 miles, push ups and sit ups. Looking to get more in the weights but I'm not real knowledgeable on which muscles groups to work together (ie chest and tri's on one day vs back and bi's on another).
  2. I think it will just take a little bit. Looking through the classifiers of someone who shot it last year, it shows the date as 3/24/06 (date of match) and the date it was entered as 5/10/06. It should show up on next month's update.
  3. Bought my P16-40 Limited back in 99. First thing to go was the extractor. Took it to Cylinder & Slide (I was living in Omaha so it was close) to have a new extractor put in. While it was there, I had them upgraded all the trigger components, put in a new bushing, and metal mag release button. It stayed that way for many many years with zero problems. Last year, I decided to send it off to Virgil Tripp to be hard chromed. When it came back, it wasn't running great (it just needed to break in). I took it to a local gun smith (Mike Caylor). He did a few upgrades to reduce trigger pull and stippled the grips. Again it's running great with zero problems. First picture is before chrome. Second is after. Only thing I wish I would have done different is add a Dawson ICE magwell vs the S&A one I added. Orginal intent was to also use this in IDPA; but I haven't shot an IDPA match in a while.
  4. First "BIG" match was the 2007 Double Tap Championship and as everyone else has stated, I had a blast!!!! I did a few medium size IDPA matches in 99 or 00. Kansas City Indoor had a dark stage that required a flashlight. I had bought a new surefire light for the match and the bulb died on me right before the dark stage. The other was the Midwest Spring Nationals in Columbus MO. First stage had three targets that rotated into view for x amount of seconds and then disappeared again. Gun jammed on the second shot and I ended with a bunch of Mikes. I came in close to DAL in both of them.
  5. Would an extended length firing pin solve your issue?
  6. Boo, I'm in the same boat. Put my money down last fall with Mike Caylor to build a limited gun. I'm hoping to get the same call here shortly. I too have been suprised how many used guns I've seen on here since I ordered mine. It's good to hear you've been pleased with Mike's work. Can't wait to get mine.
  7. Wish I would have known that about six months ago.
  8. Only Chrono that really counts is the one at the major match you're shooting. I found out the hard way mine wasn't calibrated the same as the match chrono. Seems like most here have found the CED to be about the same as some major match chronos. Maybe most of the major matches use CED? I dunno.
  9. 11 GMs in Limited. Top five scored 100%, 96%, 95%, 94%, 90%. Not sure about the sanctioned level of the match. It did count as a classifier last year. Shows up as 06DT as the classifier.
  10. Yep and I tried to take all this into account. Chrono'd on a few different days (one in hot weather and one in cooler) and once about a week prior to the big match when the temps were about the same. I also had my load at a 170pf (or so I thought). When I got to the big match, I chrono'd at 164.8. The temps at the time were in the 60's which is pretty close to what they were when I chrono'd the week prior. It was overcast at the match and the week prior. After telling the MD how baffled I was at not making major, he asked me what chrono I was using. I told him which one , he commented on how they are frequently 20-40 fps off. It's not fun to think your all safe and then get to the big match and only make minor. I was getting consistent results. I just didn't know they were consistently off about 40fps until after I chrono'd at a big match.
  11. They work awesome. They provide as much grip as the grip tape on the front.
  12. I'll be moving to the area this fall. Looks like I found a great place to shoot!!!!
  13. Yep, me too. I'm also looking at new Chrono and have been eyeing the CED M2.
  14. The Area 1 MD shot on our squad and was asking him about the trophies.
  15. Sadly my current rear is starting to flat spot down the center. Too much interstate riding to work and no twisties.
  16. Not too shabby! Almost right to the edge ;-) That was right up to the edge. The little Michelin man and the tire direction arrows that are on the edge were gone. That picture was right after a track day.
  17. Shot the stage today that catfish dreamed up. The no shoots with the center cut out were definitely interesting. Four of the targets were placed at the back of the stage. Had to decide on wheter to stay back and take the shot to save time or run up to the fault line to guarantee your hits. Needless to say, there were a few no shot penalties on the stage.
  18. Sounds like this could be an interesting match tomorrow.
  19. I thought maybe you had a new open gun I hadn't seen yet.
