Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Thank you to the group that stepped up to keep this awesome resource alive. I would be more than happy to pay a membership fee to help support the costs associated with keeping this online.
  2. I am exploring the purchase of a MPA DS9 in 9mm with the co-witness optic set up. The current factory options are Vortex, Trijicon, and Leopold. Looking for input from owners that have this set up, what optic did you choose and how happy are you with the combo? If this is not the right forum to ask this question I apologize in advance. Thank you!
  3. Every class related to concealed carry stresses the importance of utilizing preferably a stock pistol, and or one that is modified only in a way to improve the function & safety. Race guns, open guns, guns with 2# triggers, etc. can get you into serious hot water with the legal system if you should need to pull the gun & use it. This is not my opinion, just sharing what I have learned at classes through US Law Shield.
  4. Correct it's all about the prep to ensure the material being applied sticks.
  5. Agree 100% with you on this. Grew up playing golf, a sport where nobody talks or moves while another person in the group is hitting / putting. Should be common sense.
  6. I have been shooting some low / more casual steel challenge matches for a couple years at two different gun clubs. Been working hard to up my game, and this season I am shooting in a legit steel challenge league. Get through all the briefings, join my squad at our first station, and walk to the back of the area (very far back) and take my gun out of the sleeve to put it into my holster. Oh boy, that is obviously a serious mistake. Guy in my squad immediately rolls up on me and explains actually should be DQ'd (correct). I am like great, I drove an hour, my first real match, and I get my butt booted for being stupid before I fire a round. Well thankfully after a well deserved lecture we al moved on and I shot the match. Bottomline I learned a valuable lesson and it only cost me a little frustration with myself.
  7. I use the Sport Impact model, swapped out the ear pads for the gel pads (Amazon). Also I added the cloth pad for the piece that goes over your head. I think also Amazon, company is US Tactical Sewing. Just seems more comfortable especially if not wearing a ball cap.
  8. I have Oakley frames with prescription lenses in the color Oakley suggested for shooting sports, a kind of gold prism. Outside they are awesome in all light conditions. Several of my friends have had Hunter's Gold prescription lenses installed into Oakley frames due to a personal preference. Looking forward to seeing Hunter's Gold at one of my local matches to see what the lense options are, I believe they make a lense that goes from light to dark depending upon the level of brightness that I am very interested in.
  9. Mine eats batteries on a weekly basis. I am currently finding alternative mounts for my gun and chasing to a different optic.
  10. Royal Purple for me, buy in bulk put into four bottles with needles.
  11. Ha yes, the TSO so much easier to dis-assemble & clean. Never take both guns apart on the same pad at the same time!
  12. I do not load my own ammo, my adult ADD simply doesn't allow me to focus enough on the process to make my own ammo. Having said that, I own a CZ TSO and a Czechmate, both of which have a smaller chamber. I know that my standard that I compare other ammo to is the Wilson Combat Arms 135 flat nose 9mm. NC Shooters Supply produces a 124G round nose Blue Bullet specifically for CZ's. The NC ammo shoots super soft in a CZ.
