  1. Man that season finale was rough... "We need to take out the skins!" Genius idea Mr. Dixon, why didn't anyone think of this sooner? And then they all just get off-screened as if the hard part was just coming up with the idea and weaving through a horde to silently execute the armed humans disguised as walkers is just child's play.
  2. tested it out with a new 22 pound recoil spring and it worked much better. I'm not even sure the spring the guy gave me in the slide when I bought it was even a Witness spring.
  3. Yeah, I'd go with a .40 S&W Rhino. I kind of want to get a 200DS as a winter carry gun though I wonder how hard it would be to hide AIWB compared to an LCRx...
  4. I'll admit mine goes to Goats of Anarchy since I really love goats and they don't get the charitable attention dogs or cats get.
  5. There are a lot of things EAA isn't seeming to get in these days...
  6. Henning is awesome! My Tanfo came with one grip screw hole drilled poorly so my aluminum grips I bought from them where floppy and one screw stuck out. Eventually a screw sheared off and not only did drill out the screw for me for free but they gave me a new set of grips because my old pair was scratched up from struggling with screwdrivers.
  7. So I took my new slide to the range and I think the recoil spring is too weak. It is WAY easier to rack and to hold in place to pop the slide stop out to switch slides. When I shoot I can feel it chugging along and if I try to drop the slide on a reload it gets stopped by the round in the mag, I have to pull it back all the way and slingshot it. I had plenty of failures to feed and occasionally the slide would try to go home on a reload from the mag sliding in. I really hope this wasn't a lemon.
  8. I can confirm my fit right off the bat even though you can see it is a very old model and mine was made in 2015.
  9. Within 2 hours of posting on Armslist I found a guy 2 hours away selling a 10mm Wonder compact kit. Now to get that barrel threaded and the sights drilled for night sights or fiber optics...
  10. It's a "steel" model so I think it's integral to the slide. Model 999220
  11. I've not really found a lot of "competent gunsmiths" around me, the two I've encountered are more "parts installers" who explicitly say they won't do anything that would be considered "damage" by the manufacturer.
  12. I'd like to put fiber optic front and rear sights on my Witness steel which breaks down into two issues: getting the front sight milled and finding a rear sight that will fit. Tooltech will drill out the front sight for me but it's part of installing night sights and I'd rather have fiber optics, I think, so is there someone who'll mill and install fiber optic sights? Second, Fusion Firearms sells rear sights they say fit Witnesses which I was previously unaware of since years ago when I looked into this on the CZ forums was a guy who put the rear sight for an Egyptian pistol on his Witness fitting it with a black sheet material. So I'm wondering if there is a fiber optic rear that may fit right out of the box that easy?
  13. She certainly looks strong, which is hot AF. I want a girl who could bridal carry me off for her own devices. Bet she'd look hot dressed in Roman Lorica Segmentata.
  14. So you couldn't mount an Aimpoint ACRO either, huh?
  15. And here I'd want the opposite and want CZ97 or Beretta 96 in .30 Carbine...
  16. Probably, but I'm not sure if that is very important. I mean there aren't many reasons to get an M1 these days besides personal taste/coolness factor so if you like the idea of an M1 Carbine that takes Beretta 92 mags that's all there is to it.
  17. That does indeed look very cool. And I very much appreciate your effort based on my whims.
  18. That's really inspiring to see such a project come together, gives me hope for mine working out in the end. I especially like how your build looks all silver like that. I was thinking of doing the same with mine after seeing a 92f Inox "ghost gun" but I couldn't find silver aluminum grips so I first got red ones, but my Witness had one screw hole drilled incorrectly so they rattled around until one day a screw sheared off. Henning offered to fix it and they gave me a pair of blue textured ones for my troubles.
  19. If I wasn't so in love with the look of my blue aluminum grips on my pistol I'd be really tempted to get wood ones since I'm normally a "wood furniture" type of person on all my guns. Might be a possible out for me on my project since I know wood grips look good on a two-tone pistol whereas I have no idea how blue aluminum grips would look on one.
  20. Aren't the holes for mounting a special optics rail? Though either way I'm the last person with the right to criticize someone for disliking an aspect of a Witness' dust cover...
  21. Sadly in this day and age it's rather aspirational to be able to retire, so very much good for you for being able to live the dream!
  22. Might be good, as a certain poetic fellow, perhaps from a civilization of combatants, said that your home defense gun needs to sound like a furious dragon descending upon invaders lest they not be scared away by the sound of your firing. He also said you want your neighbors to know you're shooting and hear that you are. Being as even suppressed "hearing safe" subsonic .300blk is louder than a jackhammer so I'd think your neighbors would notice what sounds like you firing off a nail gun in your house at 2am.
  23. I'm planning to get an X95 Tavor for home defense, in .300blk so I can keep it loaded with subsonics and a can to keep it hearing safe, and a supersonic mag clipped on for a quick change if subs aren't doing it. I know MAC likes using a flow-through suppressor on his Tavors to keep from getting a ton of gas in his face, but the CEO of Q was going off on what a stupid idea slow-through suppressors are. I'm wondering what people on here think about these matters?
  24. I really love the Henning aluminum grips on my Witness. The stock plastic ones felt so bendy and cheap, then the "lava rock" ones I got off eBay really were like holding pumice stones. I like these much better.
