    X5 is back

Im stoked Ill buy one at MSRP. Gunbroker thieves can sell the overpriced ones to suckers.
  2. Thats a good machine, it was my first Dilon press back in 1990. I loaded 300 RPH np. It all comes down to how much time you want to spend in the reloading room. Im 56 now . I started when I was 21 years old. Back then I had more energy , now that Im older and have much deeper pockets, I want the latest and greatest equipment, less stress on my body doing things manually. So Im at the automated level going on 3 years now. Ive been a master tech wrenching on automobiles for 32 years now. My hands get tired Good luck enjoy the new machine. Were all here to help out if you have any questions. Have a great week !
  3. Amen to that. Ive had mine for 3 years. It started on my RL650. Graduated to my RL1100. Cranking out 1,700 RPH NP.
  4. You need both, thats a lot . I shoot 20K a year. Im running automated machines now, my arm was getting wasted pulling the handle.
  5. Haaa ! Thats priceless, I have them inside my safe in the door pockets. Been 2 years collecting dust.
  6. The big question is how many rounds per year are you going to shoot? When I had a 650 with the case feeder and Mr. bullet feeder I could load 600 RPH taking my time.
  7. The case feeder is a must have. Loading the tubes with cases will suck the fun out of reloading.
  8. My other Rl1100 I use to load powder and bullets only. I use a Lyman M die to flare the case mouth. The powder measure is just set to drop the powder no flare. This helps greatly for consistent ammo along with the Rollsizer. My CZ Custom A01 LD has a tight chamber along with my other CZ pistols. If you in the Avondale area anytime, your more than welcome to try out my ammo in your pistol, Im there every Sunday at 9am. Just shoot me a PM. BTW Im using the Armanov case gauge for 9mm. I also load 147 gr for my subsonic rounds,
  9. Here is a pic of my priming only tool head. I run a full length resize die in station #3 and a shell hold swage die in station #5. This keeps the plate steady. There's no need to have anything above the priming station. I shoot Blue bullets 115 grain out of all my high end pistols.Hope this helps.
  10. I have been loading mixed range brass on my automated RL1100 for nearly 3 years now. Your over complicating the issue. I also prime my brass and full length resize before loading. Its referred to as a 2 step process. Never had any issues. My friend owns Target Shooting Solutions in Avondale PA. thats where I get my mixed range brass. Over the last 70,000 rounds that I have loaded I would have approx 8 to 10 cases that would fail my case gauge per 1,000 cases checked. I also have both of the pistols that you mentioned. I run a separate tool head for priming only. The best thing that I did to prevent a lot of loaded ammo failing the case gauge was to purchase a roll sizer. I also have the Decapper machine. Since I started using the rollsizer I might have 1 case fail out of 2,000 that I run through the gauge.
  11. Ditch the chain cover, I have my machine mounted flush with the bench, I use a long handle 1/2 inch combination wrench to operate manually. Mounting the machine that way keeps the case feeder pole on the bench top. Much more stable
  12. I have no need for the cable, but Mark sent me one anyway.
  13. I agree. I speak to Sam all the time. Great guy gets me what I need to my door fast. He is in the automated department.
  14. If you upgrade to the new thicker shell plate that will stop some of the flexing. I prime my cases only on the first pass. I run the sizing die and the swage die for support when priming, never had any issues. I only use cci primers though. Ive primed in excess of 90,000 cases this way. Just my 2 cents .
  15. If you have an empty station, expand the case mouth with a Lyman M die or Redding Expander, instead of using the the powder drop funnel. Much more consistant and it keeps the powder funnel from jerking on the upstroke.
  16. Were always here to help. Thats what this Forum is all about. Have a great week
  17. Just a little FYI you cant over index the RL1100. The shoulder bolt is most likely bent. Put the machine at full upward stop. If the index lever has slop the bolt is bent . Also like stated maintenance is the key to a happy autodrive. Make sure you do a full teardown and cleaning every 10,000 rounds. After about 8,000 rounds I have to loosen my shellplate lockdown a hair to compensate for the grease getting skanked with use.
  18. Yes sir. Daa asked me to Beta test it. They might make one specifically for the CP2000 at a later date.
  19. Installed the DAA setup on my CP2000 toolhead. All good if you dont need anything in station #4. Much better than the LED hangers. Note : this unit was designed for the RL1100, toolhead.
  20. One shot is the next best thing since sliced bread. I lay my brass on a towel, spray them down, fold the towel and funnel into a plastic tupperware bin. I do use the Lyman M die to expand the case mouth, this will relieve the powder funnel from having to expand the case mouth. No sticking ever.
  21. Thank you sir. This forum has been my go to for top notch information. I try to help anyway I can with reloading questions asked on the Dillon thread.
  22. Thank you sir. Everyones opinion on what is too much to spend varies. Im a diehard reloader, thats my hobby. Just like someone who golfs, they spend a fortune on a set of expensive clubs . Ive been called crazy more than once buying a $5,000.00 high end pistol. If you ever decide to step up to an automated unit we are here to help , thats what this forum is all about. Have a great 4th holiday
