  1. I don't remember the size of screws off the top of my head, but I have spare OEM MOS kits if you need them.
  2. Coaching observations of newer shooters or people that don't experiment as much with grip. Context: Some friends in the Ft. Worth area wanted to shoot and needed my help getting off the ground with fundamentals. Friends are new gun owner and another looking to buy one soon. Both wanted them for self defense purposes but considering gaming. People can fairly easily understand the crush with support hand grip without and snug up with shooting hand. What they don't immediately understand is how hand and elbow placement significantly affects direction of recoil movement as well as pulling the trigger. They had elbows that pointed upwards and covered strong hand knuckles with support hand fingers. Helping them change the spots they hand fingers and changing elbow angles strongly helped improve recoil control and confidence for follow up shots. Fixing milking the gun and stance is the next thing I'm planning to help them out.
  3. Yes, ball joint https://youtu.be/rnPpsboYD3s
  4. Here's my video of the 1 on 1 section of Tim's Practical Pistol class. Very beginner friendly but you need to be safe and willing to try what Tim is asking you to do. There's also a lot of time to try the drills dry and transfer to live fire. For drills, i recommend doubles/triples, practical accuracy, accelerator, and MXAD https://youtu.be/e-okwN7wC2A
  5. It's also the one that hurts the shoulders the most, and ended up with the most muzzle dip when the slide returned to battery. Kinda like holding sledgehammer at full extension on one end.
  6. Here's a list of mods I did for my g35.4 shown here. Goal was to have a more tolerable plastic limited gun while fitting in a production holster, and to also mess around with weight gaining mods. Vogel sights, Dawson Extensions, Glock Store pure tungsten guide rod, Dawson ICE magwell. @Reds_Dotcan also give input of what he's attempted for his g22.5 and how that affected him. Here's a video of me messing around with adding weight to the front end of the gun: https://youtu.be/MLBMgrJS0dc
  7. Sweaty day. No real practice between Dragons Cup and OK Sectional due to work and family obligations. Couldn't really focus with dehydration, sun burning, etc. Need better focus in the A zone of paper and being confident and ready to slap a popper on the first shot.
  8. Update for 40 mag. Some factory loaded rounds will catch on the front lip with the case mouth. Ammo was Winchester 165 gr fmj and Speer Lawman 180 Gr fmj.
  9. Simple enough to say that the ammo issues I had weighed on my mind pretty heavily. I'm moderately okay with my performance otherwise except for serious makeup shots. https://youtu.be/venPlsXh59Y
  10. Yes, that's what's implied by competition follower. Should also add that the mag might be squeezed somewhere by the frame with a Dawson ICE magwell.
  11. I have a 40 MBX mag for a g35.4 with the competition follower. I can stuff 20 in there just fine, but you need to check if the follower catches on the slide stop. My particular mag doesn't like to drop free unless there's at least 1 round in the mag. I haven't messed with reshaping the mag body yet.
  12. TX State Open Results: https://practiscore.com/results/new/3e960cd0-bbcc-40d1-ba65-be2df55e5118?q_division=1&q_individual=mmShooter_3983863 9th Carry Optics overall at 91.53% of the winner (Alex Acosta), Carry Optics raw time champ (because that's what matters ) Things I liked about myself: Stayed super aggressive, most times were up with the top performers in carry optics. Most shots on static paper targets were exactly where I was looking Things I want to improve: Shots that are typically sketchy for me such as swingers and hard target entries need to be more stable or confident. Better called shots on steel Equipment change I did differently from most of my previous matches: I chose to use 150gr Syntech for this match. I used a few weekends to get used to the ammo and thankfully didn't have to change my dials, just needed to understand the elevation change to about 15 yards for my zero as opposed to 25 yards with my handloaded 125gr. Just simply felt a different recoil impulse. Super reliable and consistent ammo. Things to work on after Double Tap Championship this coming weekend leading up to Dragons Cup: Body stability and footwork.
  13. Initial purpose of this diary is now complete, logging everything to make Carry Optics GM. Current purpose is to just simply log practice and match observations. Possibly logging observations for small coaching of other shooters https://youtu.be/EOyq_m_i25w
  14. Update of things in general to work on: risk management: transitions, 90-10, emotional focus and clarity, knees over toes, upper body posture Dump of recent matches
  15. Define this bracket. If I guessing, you may be using a similar method to Tim Herron's "anchoring the rear sight"
  16. It's just when you've handled ammo components that cold water is better to keep the pores closed while using a metal removing soap. Afterwards warm water is fine for regular handwashing.
  17. Before you get into the car, before you eat, are you removing lead with wipes or heavy metal removing soap with cold water? Have you been touching your face a bunch after handling anything firearms related? Do you wipe down the surfaces you touch, car door handles, steering wheel, gear selector, etc.? Do you sniff the smoke coming out of your barrel? Anything you do that allows entry into your body will contribute to increasing lead levels in your body. That's anything from your nostrils, mouth, ears, and even sweat glands all over your body. It's literally like how a disease enters your body. If you're getting shavings when seating, you probably need to expand your case mouths more to prevent exposing lead, reducing the chance of direct contact. It will likely help if you use gloves while loading ammo. Nitrile, latex, whatever else that's flexible but provides protection from direct contact.
  18. Halla! Glad to see you jumping into the deep end of forums! You'll enjoy your GX Vice, Lafe Kunkel does great work. Just know that since he's a one man shop it may take a bit longer and has been backordered for a while after an explosion of recent popularity here in the US last year. He also travels to and represents his product as a sponsor for stages and vendor. There's a range diary section available if you'd like to document your journey into IPSC. https://forums.brianenos.com/forum/155-range-diary/
  19. The re-shoots definitely let me refine my movements a lot more and pick the spot on targets that I needed. I'm starting to see why JJ likes re-shoots so much for that second opportunity to do better in whatever you wanted.
  20. Local match after Ray Ray Jacuzzi class: had reshoot central, brought 254 rounds and shot exactly 200 . https://practiscore.com/results/new/755ab57c-e44c-4a84-a377-546887f64e27?q_individual=mmShooter_4213916 Point of this match was to put into practice the things learned from JJ's field course class and it's mostly developed well. Main weakness is still transitions (working on the bump as taught by JJ). Movement has significantly improved after receiving some direction and can be explored further. Tightened up the majority of hits. Takeaway: If you have fundamentals at least most of the way there and some confidence in movement, the JJ class is very worth the money. It's not rooted in drills but in exploring possibilities and efficiencies with different field courses.
  21. I've been having pockets of weekends when it wasn't practical to train and make better observations to transfer to a match, so while not necessarily wild it was to observe current issues. Also, I was behind Dazhi by 8 seconds. Easily identifiable by less efficient stage plans or correctly shooting everything the first time.
  22. Hit a mental speed curve in shooting and movement, time to bring target accuracy back up. Also, I'll be taking a Ray Ray Jacuzzi class these next 2 days. Recent recurring issues: I'm tensing up and causing shots to go a bit wild, and not quite positionally moving at a speed that my shooting can keep up with. I can also afford to squat a bit closer to the ground. Video starts on stage 6. https://practiscore.com/results/new/52b664f0-3499-44a1-ba8b-579ba26404e8?q_individual=mmShooter_4162524
  23. That's why I'm asking, because it's not available on the PS registration and people want to plan ahead.
