  1. I have some friends in Austin who have to QC syntech before running them in an S2. The tighter chamber sometimes won't fit syntech.
  2. This is practically what I'm having an issue with. Which is an easy fix of dryfiring and focusing on that consistent placement of support hand grip out of the way of the safety.
  3. 2nd match in with decent weather up until the last stage of the match. Hitches in the gun were caused by me bumping up the thumb safety just enough to not work correctly
  4. First outing with the new RSU Arms open gun. A little rough considering I just got it and don't quite have an index built up. Plan was to transfer over what I know shooting carry optics and shoot the first plan the comes to mind. Cmore has similar form factor to the SRO making placing the dot on the spot I want easier. Found my load, now I just need more powder. Shot this match with Outdoor Dynamics 9 major, which unfortunately doesn't group well nor make major PF in this gun. It'll serve well as doubles and Bill drill practice ammo. https://practiscore.com/results/new/b7e864a6-9ee5-49bb-924d-748f658df14d?q_individual=mmShooter_5771570
  5. Feeling good, just need to focus on hitting alphas and a consistent draw for Area 4 Champs
  6. I think this is how most people initially see themselves when they progressively get better. Improved results create more questions that have double the unknown answers. I believe if you switch your mind to see 3 good things in your stage performance and have 2 things you'd like to improve, then you'll have a more positive self-image and faster progression to M/GM. You're already analytical with what you do, it's just a matter of building upon it. If you can add video then that can only help you more. I think we can look forward to how you progress
  7. Recovered from COVID-19 which caused me to miss Dragons Cup and Double Tap Championship this year. Focusing on Area 4. Goals for A4 - no expectations, just perform at highest possible capability regardless of score ignoring scores except for possible errors that I see prior to approval. Got my first 2 practice sessions on 5/20 and 5/21, checking grip, basic reloads, transitions, instances that cause trigger freeze and self-induced flyers. Speeds are pretty much the same as they were before. Railed out a 1.61 Bill drill with all alphas, which made me excited. I've lost some visual focus on transitions and I tend to loosen up grip on shots 3 or 4 before coming back and focusing on recoil control. I confident that I either had a weakened grip with my left hand, or I unlock my right wrist. I've been having a tendency to drift shots left at 25 yards which I know is caused by squeezing my right hand through the trigger pull. Overall happy I'm back in the game. Other plans for the year - continue trying to be more consistent with the guys producing episodes for the Raw Time Champ Podcast
  8. Been away for a bit World Pistol shootout - 2 broken optics. Mental got scattered but managed to keep some things in check and got my baseline to improve for the year https://practiscore.com/results/new/971f06f1-0da9-465d-87f6-a3bd43dc0acb Final local match as an MD. The past 3-4 months were humbling as it gave a better appreciation of MDs and the difficulty it comes with if you're also a competitor. Great opportunity to figure out how to just focus on 1 thing at a time. Shot production as an interim to have fun and mess around with it again. https://practiscore.com/results/new/a34f0dcb-8100-48fc-9933-dafc5bf5b693 Back to carry optics after mounting a new SRO. Starting to shoot like myself again and got to see my inefficiency against Dazhi again. Reduce excessive movements, optimize plans for simplicity, transition quickly, move fast with intent. https://practiscore.com/results/new/e45431d0-288d-4eed-8eb0-ec341c6174db Also got to do a precision load workup for an AR10. Got a genuine feeling of pride shooting this many sub-MOA groups in one day, probably within 40 minutes. Faster than desirable, but within the 1 hour they give at my local indoor range (it rained that day and was zeroing a new optic on a precision .22lr).
  9. Poor performance has been a few things lately for the past 2 matches: I lost zero on both my CO guns due to screws backing out, okay hardware fixes. New screws and loctite, done I have been struggling again with the original purpose I play this game - for fun. By keeping it fun I'm able to enjoy the game and learn anything I can rather than desperately climbing for a result. That said, I also need a goal for the year to chase for. Same goal as last year: win a major in whatever division, and learn what I can from those major matches Major matches for this year: World Pistol Shootout Dragons Cup Double Tap Championship Area 4 Whatever nationals I'm able to sign up for provided slots don't fill Sooner State Showdown (OK Sectional) IPSC nats
  10. Match after about 4 weeks of not really shooting heavy. Good: stuck with plans even with mistakes and kept my head cool the entire time. Kept it light with MD duties Things to improve: aggressive movement and aggressively attacking targets using vision and dot, running posture
  11. Lessons learned a second time being an MD. You can't really expect a good match performance if you serve some admin related duty, swing a hammer, and shoot all in the same day. Mentally tired after setup, new shooter briefing, and having to run to all squads to change a stage setting in the tablets. TLDR - I have a hard time flipping the switch between competitor and admin Too cold to wear shorts, fingers lost flexibility, and RO duties all day. 2 stages were custom designs, one based off an IPSC stage in the Philippines about a year or 2 ago, and an original by me. Hopefully February will be warmer and I can mentally settle in better.
  12. Messed with shooting different colored targets. Messed with my head initially, but got the hang of it. Just focus on where you want the bullet to go and track that spot
  13. Glad to have met you as well! Hope you get back to running around like the rest of us soon!
  14. Solid, eats everything up and still cycles even with underpowered ammo
  15. One last post for 2022. Decided to mess around with 15 round mags like in Production Optics. In my opinion it made the division more fun challenge by increasing just a few more reloads. Some hits went wild, total time about 7 seconds behind Dazhi. 1 final mag toss to round out 2022 for an ugly and barely in there delta. https://practiscore.com/results/new/ba3b9417-df7e-4c26-9107-9b1f406f2eb6
  16. Simply shoot and don't look back. The less worried I can be about the parts the better off I am mentally
  17. I personally prefer a 34 over a 17, but appreciate how the 17 works as an all-rounder. Simply swap to sights of choice and an OEM minus connector and I'm very happy
  18. Shot a match after about 3 weeks of being stuck at home taking care of my mom post-knee surgery. For the most part I like where my baseline is at having not shot in a while. Currently working on dryfire at home with the small space I currently have. Focus in live fire practices will be close range targets on the move as I've been dragging off the target. Likely will be using Bar-Hop using partials to have a specific focus. I had 1 M on an open target and a drag off A/NS. Notes - raw pistol time. Still made an 85% on the classifier even with the second reload that got bobbled. 2 mag tosses for entertainment https://practiscore.com/results/new/4feb293e-f342-45a9-af96-759bba35949b
  19. Messing around with carbines lately. Shot the PCSL 2-Gun pcc format. I've only shot multi-gun once, so this is a welcome change to the shooting season. I find that holding a carbine is different than a handgun. Handgun I crush without shaking. A carbine I'm simply holding the front of the gun in space while the trigger hand pulls the gun into the shoulder. I'll be exploring this more soon this off-season. I've also attempted the Xray Alpha CQB Assessment. My best score in in the 150s due to being away from rifles for so long and not having shot rifles in a practical setting. Need to aim higher with the rifle
  20. I think Marco Cabahug has tried it. You can try asking him on IG. I've heard multiple people trimming it though
  21. A lot has happened. I've had some improvements, but there's always something to improve which is mentality and mindset. I've had a bunch of setbacks in training late summer and early fall due to getting busy with work. Below are videos of recent matches. Please enjoy, and toss your mags in a safe direction.
  22. It looks like battlewerx has that solution figured out Just rmr/sro to plate https://www.battlewerx.com/trijicon-rmr-mounting-screws-for-glock-mos-slides-6-32-x-385-torx-pair/ If you need a full set: https://www.battlewerx.com/replacement-screw-kit-for-glock-mos-trijicon-rmr/
