  1. Like you, I replaced the RM with a standard guide rod and 9 lb variable power commander spring. While shooting the first mag I did experienced the "unexpected" slide lock following the last round in the mag. Reloaded again and kept shooting with no problems. As for the buffer, I have some at the house and will try them this weekend.
  2. I guess you are closer than me at 21 hours, 47 minutes (1,329 miles).
  3. Hello there from South Florida!!! Hope to see you in Port Malabar.
  4. I talked to Brazos (both by phone and in person) and I believed I heard the phrase "I don't know what the previous owner did to the gun" at least three to four times. I would have preferred to hear "let me see the gun and check out what the problem is" instead. Wasn't happy at the time. As such, I would like to stay away from a modified RM and/or any other BCG products for now.
  5. Currently own a Brazos SX that came with a recoil master that is kind of heavy, so I would like to replace it with a standard guide rod and spring (8 lbs). Last night I tried installing the standard guide rod and spring, but due to the length of the spring, the gun would not make a complete cycle (won’t even allow locking the slide back). Read some old posts and saw that someone recommended using commander length springs. Problem is that I can’t find light weight commander length springs. What options do I have? Do I need to cut couple of coils from the recoil spring? Can I replace the capture spring within the RM?
  6. Someone mentioned that adjusting the over-travel screw will take care of this. Any thoughts?
  7. While shooting yesterday, I noticed the hammer was going into the half-cock position every other stage. What could cause this? I read somewhere in the forum that this could be caused by a worn out/damaged sear spring. Is this correct?
  8. I would definetively love to see more bays at this range. Even with all the range limitations, the club puts really good and fun matches.
  9. Any ideas on how to solve this issue without turning away new or other non-member shooters?
  10. I'm not an accountant, but have heard that some clubs limit their "profits" by having extra expenses by having a free match with food and raffles at the end of the year.
  11. To provide some background info, the club in question runs a weekly 3-stage match and a monthly 4-stage match. They get approx. 60 shooters for their weekly matches and 80+ for their monthly matches. Weekly matches run from approx. 7:00 pm to 9-9:30 pm. The only monthly match I attended (with 80+ shooters) was finished around 12:30 pm.
  12. How would you handle out of town shooters over local non-member shooters?
  13. As I understand, this is being proposed in order to limit the number of shooters.
  14. A local club is playing with the idea of requiring that the shooters become paid club members in order to shoot a local (Level I) match. Do you agree or disagree?
  15. Thanks to a BE member, I got a great deal on a mount and will be replacing the stripped mount. Now the questions is, red or blue loctite?
  16. Correct, the stripped hole is in the mount not the frame.
  17. Just found out that the front hole of the cmore mount of my (new to me and according to the provided round count less than 2,000 rnds) Brazos Sx is stripped and will not hold the cmore in place. Any recommendations on a good mount? I was thinking on the Allchin with the blast deflector to minimize direct pressure to the cmore. Staying away from the 90 degree mounts. Brownells list the Allchin mount for a 1911, will this fit the 2011?
  18. Chris, Let me know when you get bored of the Limcat. I'll find a new home for it.
  19. Hello there!!! I'm at the Ocean side. I recently moved to the area, but have already integrated the shooting schedule into my weekly agenda. Anything I can help out, let me know. Mario.
  20. "I'm just here to see how it works, I'll shoot next time....."
  21. Still have the holster?

I been having uissues with my computer and the email have not been sent.

    Mario.

  22. What's your load for a Brazos Sx?

  23. Chris Will see how it goes. Still getting used to the longer drive time to go shoot. Trying to get up there for the SEPSA or SAPSA January match. Happy New Year!!! Mario.
  24. Thansk for the info. Keep me posted on the IPSC stuff. I'm not into IPDA, I'm an open gunner.

    Hope to see you soon.

    Mario.
