  1. Hoping to get mine back this week! Brian said they were sending it back to him on the 24th which was this past Friday. I can't wait to see the new paint job and also shoot it in 38SC!
  2. Rounds that barely don’t pass case gauge I shoot ALL the time with no issues. The case gauge is usually tighter than the barrel. That was not the issue.
  3. They are definitely doing that and I’m looking forward to shooting it.
  4. If they want to chime in I’ll let them answer that. I’m not into talking about it anymore.
  5. It’s still at PT. They are re-coating it. Should have it back in a few weeks or so.
  6. I just want to clear the air. Tiffany and Brian at PT have been working on getting my gun 100% with my ammo and they have been successful. I let my emotions and frustrations guide my judgement. I appreciate them working on it and staying patient with me through that. They are serious when they say if something goes wrong they will always help you out. I think I was anticipating them just to leave me hanging like a lot of companies out there but they didn't. They are even fitting me a 38SC barrel for it which I'm excited to try. It has been a rough start with the gun but man was it fun when it ran and I'm excited again to shoot it again. Anyone out there buying a Honcho that reads all this can feel confident that PT will have your back no matter what. Thanks Tiffany and Brian.
  7. Now The gun won’t extract with the second spring in the extractor. Tried everything I’m sending the gun back.
  8. I’m also running ammo that is 173 PF. I’ve been told all along the Honcho likes hot loads and don’t use low PF. I’m using a load that a team guy uses currently. So can’t blame that. I’m not saying you aren’t helping me I’m just stating my experience. CS is good and I’m thankful for that. If it doesn’t run today I will be doing exactly that. I hope I will not be charged as this is not user error.
  9. I’m doing that but I’m also stating the issues I’m having as well as frustration. I’m not changing loads and I will be testing today. Adding one spring in the extractor and then if that doesn’t work new springs.
  10. I would disagree and I’m not on Team PT like you so I’m not bias. My Atlas which is the only open gun I have owned is fit much better. EVERY part has the serial number etched in. Every part is hand massaged to fit perfect. I have to hammer in my Slide stop pin and have to spend 20 minutes trying to get my thumb safety back in. The fit is rough to say the least. Tight yes but rough. I would also disagree with superior materials. Why was the EGW bulb style disconnector used then if knowing the clearance is like .001? I hope I get this gun running today. It is a joy to shoot when it shoots but if not I will be selling it. When a company has a no return policy it should have been a red flag. My gun doesn’t like MBX mags and I don’t care what everyone says. I’m a sample of 1 and so far this Honcho is not impressive and has me thinking I shouldn’t have made the jump. We will see after today.
  11. None of my Atlas guns had the breech face polished and all ran fine. Yes, I know the shake test and it passes. Comes out on the 5-6th shake.
  12. They are very helpful and supportive
  13. Both MBX which the gun does not like and tuned Atlas STI gen 2 l. Only MBX it likes is I have one with Grams internals. Everybody says that the Mbx is the best but I’m not seeing that.
  14. All same head stamp. Remington. Breach face is not polished.
  15. The disco got stuck down after 250 rounds. Replaced that. Then going to test it again just multiple jams and stovepipes. Not ejecting cases and very erratic. Talking with other Honcho guys I’m going to replace the recoil spring with a (6 variable in the gun)7lb ISMI with two coils cut and the mainspring with 17lb(19 in gun). Then if I continue to have issues add a spring to the Aftec extractor. We will see.
  16. So, I just got my 9 major Honcho a week ago and my buddy did as well. Coming from owning Atlas guns these are a "rough" fit. Now granted my Atlas was 7K and took 20+ hours to build. These take 1/4 time I hear. Upon breaking the gun in after 250 rounds both my buddies gun and mine the disconnector stuck down, making the guns not able to fire. Upon dissaembly I saw it was a EGW with the bulb design. Contacted Tiffany and she overnighted us 2 Extreme fluted disconnector to install. Great customer service move there. Still trying to get the gun to run reliably.
  17. I like 10 yards, then impact will be slightly high going back but up close there isn't a big hold over. YMMV
  18. This the only MBX mag I own is a 155 that malfunctioned from the start until I replaced the guts with Grams spring and follower. All my other mags are Tuned STI Gen 2 and have all run flawlessly. YMMV
  19. I had an Erebus. I sold it to fund an open gun but it shot awesome. I would shoot Fiocchi 124 Trunicated cone which PF to about 140. Shot very flat and was so fast! You will love it!
  20. I’m still waiting on my Honcho. 10 weeks was just before Christmas and Tiffany said she was waiting for it to come back from coating. I hope I get the call it’s back here in the next week or so I’ll post pics and plan on doing a full review when I get it!
  21. I use smith glasses and love them. Makes the dot Pop like a big red beach ball. I have a lighter shade for cloudy days and a darker for bright days.
  22. Rob Leatham has been one of my favorites so far. Just amazing to hear him break things down. I would like to do a Steve Anderson next year.
  23. Used Advanced Weapons Technology lube for years. Never had issues. Stays where I put it and doesn’t dry up. Mobil 1 is second. I use light springs and never had any issues.
  24. Be used Atlas tuned STI Gen 2 mags for years now. I recently bought a MBX 155 to try because I like the in between size for some stages. Out of the gate it would cause my gun to not go into battery. I replaced the guts with a gram follower and spring and haven’t had any issues since. The feed lips are not great but the mag runs so I don’t touch it.
