  1. What ammo are you using? I had a similar problem and was using remain 147g. For me it started around the 1000 round mark and started to happen pretty random after at every 200- 300 rounds. Switched to regular 124g factory ammo and have 1700 error free rounds. My set up is 11lb , recoil spring, 11.5 hammer spring, reduced power Trigger return spring, extended firing pin w/ spring. Mine happened with different mags each time including a mec gar mag and they all were relatively new, (less than 1000 rounds). Not sure it was the same problem as you but you might think about the ammo first. Since you seem to be having the problem pretty frequently, a few boxes of factory ammo might give you an indication to rule that out. My S2 with that set up didn’t seem to like powder puff loads, it wouldn’t seem to cycle as fast and consequently, if something wasn’t just right with the ammo, I would have problems. I see a fair amount of shooters that try to tweak their loads in 9mm and continue to have problems with light loads. Buddy of mine was having the same problem with the new walther Q5 SF. The 124g is clearly more power but it is noticeably faster in getting back on zero when shooting. My buddy made a good point to me that if I can’t manage recoil with a steel frame gun weighing over 2 lbs in 9mm, I have other problems, lol. He’s right.
  2. I try to dry fire 3/4 times a week. Lucky to live fire once every two weeks. I do a match almost weekly but I really don’t consider that training. I need to become more efficient with my live fire because I just don’t get out as much as I’d like.
  3. Good luck, hope you have as much fun as I do.
  4. I just sent my 2nd DPP back because the circuit board is screwed up. I use it for my CZ S2 in CO. I have the SRO but waiting for CZC to get their RMR plate for their plates system. If the SRO proves to be reliable, that will be the winner in my book.
  5. . Very good point. I might not want to mention that one to the wife.
  6. Quick update on my issues. It appears it was ammo related. Once I switched to factory 124g. I have about 1700 rounds through it since my issue and runs like a champ. I suspect the remain ammo was a tad to soft and or would be slightly out of spec on occasion. While the power factor is greater than the 147 I was shooting, I actually like how quickly it snaps back on the zero.
  7. So funny you mention becoming an A and then move to open. That was pretty much my original plan. However shooting my buddies gun had the wow factor and while my best intentions are to move to A, it could be a while before I get there. I’m pissed at my buddy because he’s derailed that plan lol. As you said, my thought was to get my shooting good enough at A level to make it a n easier transition. I beat a fair amount of open shooter because they get so sloppy if going fast. I guess I should add my impatience is not helping.
  8. All great points and that is exactly my dilemma, and pretty much where I am now. Very happy with my CO gun, I moved from a g34 to S2 and love it, have the SRO coming so it will even be better. I hate when people like you insert logic into the conversation, lol. I get that it’s a bit relative to the division I’m in, in terms of scoring, but it seems like the fun factor is at another level. Good advice from the “other side” Joe4d.
  9. Sure wish there was a “button” for all the good responses. Pretty overwhelming responses and I think was I like best was almost to a person the “Fun” aspect was highlighted. I don’t expect that I will get better instantly but I am a decent shooter, very competitive, and practice a lot. I’m not getting any younger so the clock is certainly ticking. Part of the hesitation is not only the money commitment with all the other stuff (already thought about a backup gun). I guess this is my mid-life crisis. I keep telling my wife that there are worse (more expensive) things I could be having a mid-life crises with. Not sure she’s buying that, lol
  10. Should I stay in CO, or should go to Open? Having a bit of a dilemma, been shooting less than a year but have really immersed myself into he sport. Been moving up the ranks and currently a B level shooter and really enjoy the game, but after shooting my buddies open gun, it seemed to me that I’m king spinning my wheels. Obviously it is a speed sport and running CO has been a lot of fun but challenging, especially shooting minor. Seems that going open gives me the best possible opportunity to really go fast while maximizing my scoring opportunities by shooting major. It also seems that it would be extremely fun running and gunning in the open division. I guess part of my dilemma is once I decide to go open, it’s a whole other level of commitment, especially from a monetary standpoint. If I go, it will be all in and that also means the $$ will leave my wallet rather quickly, lol. I need a little convincing to stay in CO so I’m asking for reasons why I should stay. (Outside of the expense, which is the main reason I haven’t jumped yet, having a hard time justifying the cost). I’m 99% sure I would get an Atlas Chaos in 9 major so that’s a decent chunk of change along with all the other stuff that goes with it. So any suggestions from the vast experience here would be welcomed on staying in CO or moving to Open.
  11. ^^^^This^^^^^. I agree completely with rob’s comments and has been my experience as well.
  12. Yes, passes the plunk test.
  13. So I guess the consensus is that it’s likely an ammo issue. Is there anything from the gun standpoint that I should look for?
  14. Man that seems like another lifetime ago. Back then I had to little ones under 2, now we’re about to become empty Nestor’s. I was still years away from even thinking about shooting a gun. Lol
  15. A guy had one in a local match this past weekend and he had problems of the gun not going into battery. Seems par for the course for a new sig to have some problems out of the gate. I like the idea and hopefully it’s a winner.
  16. I’ll try to change my order to just the regular size. Thanks for the heads up.
  17. Well I hope that’s all it is, love shooting the S2 and hopefully it’s not the gun.
  18. This is what I have been using. https://angelfireammo.com/9mm-147gr-fmj-3-gun-ammo-can-of-500/. I placed in order today for Fiocch 124g truncated cone FMJ so hopefully this will feed better.
  19. Belus - unfortunately I didn’t recover any of the ammo. In inch going back and re-creating what I remember seeing, it was closer to maybe 1/2 inch, not a inch, that is quite a bit. George16 - OAL is 28.70mm Igolfat18 - I have not. One of the top local shooters is sponsored by Angel fire and shoots both an sp 01 and S2 so I was assuming it was good to go. I’ll start doing this going forward.
  20. Hi All, I pick up a S2 a few months back and have had 3 malfunctions happen randomly during matches. I am not exactly sure what they were because I didn't stop in the middle of a match to diagnose, I was more concerned with getting the gun working very quickly. Each instance, I would tap/rack but that didn't work, the slide last night was slightly out of battery by maybe an inch, and it wouldn't move until I got the mag out. So every time I have to rip the magazine out, rack the slide and get another mag in, like you would with a double feed or failure to extract. Each instance it was a relatively new mag (3 different mags). I currently run the gun with a 11 lb recoil spring and 11.5lb hammer spring. All the ammo has been Angelfire 147g target ammo. The malfunctions have happened roughly at 1000 round mark for the 1st one, 1800 rounds on the second, and last night had another at around 2300 round mark.. I am not sure what is happening but very disappointed, love shooting this gun but I don't have a lot of patience with a problematic gun. I'm going to try different ammo but wanted to ask and see if there are other issues I should be looking for. I thought maybe the mags might be the problem, but 3 different ones make that unlikely. Also 2 mags are CZ, 1 is mec gar. So probably the gun or ammo. I did eyeball the extractor and it looks good, no burrs or anything like that and fairly clean. I keep the gun pretty clean and lubed. I hope it's ammo but wanted to ask and see what else I should be looking for. thanks
  21. Good thread, I am struggling with the same thing. Easy to do in slow fire but once I get moving quickly it’s been very difficult for me to have the proper focus. It’s when I kick into high gear is when I only see the sights on target, not the ignition and rise of my dot. This has been very difficult for me to do at this point (B level shooter).
  22. I was curious to those who have this in the Shadow 2. What kind of round count should I expect before some type of failure? Had some “veteran” S2 users tell be to be careful with this as they tend not to last very long. I was interested to hear from those who have these and what kind of reliability you’ve had with them. I do have a backup from CGW but wanted to have an idea of what to expect from these. Thx
