  1. Has anyone tried Prvi Partizan .223 ammo ? Was thinking of buying 1000 rounds but don't want to get junk.
  2. The match hotel for the SSN this year is out on the edge of town. I think the resturant you are talking about is more in the downtown area
  3. Well for the first few months after I registered I was squaded with Robbie, Todd, and Mike V. so I had high hopes, but alas I just noticed that I have been bumped from the squad to make room for some guy named Doug K.. So I hope to place in the top 500.
  4. Did you change out the gray shell plate when you switched calibers ? I have one shell plate for small cailbers and a differant one for the .45 , etc.. Also, the white plastic piece the is at the top of the case feed tube that goes down to the press is specific to each cailber. I forgot to change from .38 super and had the .45 get caught under the plate untill I put in the correct size white piece. Hope this helps.

We all must unite and be heard !!!! If it takes ammo we shoot it, not well, not even very good, but we shoot it. It doestn't matter if it is a .22 or 50BMG put up some targets and we are ready. We are the ones that get the Christmas cards from ALL of the gun companies, we are the ones who the UPS, FedEx, and mailman have come to hate for all the ammo componets we order buy the ton. Stand up and be pround .......We are on the BIG bus !!!
  6. I have decided to put the Limited race gun in the safe for a while and shoot single stack. My problem is what holster can I use that gives me the same "feel" as my Limited holster. I have tried a Blade-Tech but it seems to feel like I am having some drag on my draw. I looked at a Serpa but have not tried one, if anyone has some ideas I am open for suggestions.
  7. Do you mean .543"? -533" is pretty tight for the rounds inside the mag. .543" is on the low side of 1911 mag specs, and will usually do the trick. Mag Unloaded? Yep, empty mags, also the mags all drop free in my other 2 Springfields so I think it is an issue with this one. Seems to be mag catch the more I play with it. Will try some really fine emery cloth to polish it up alittle Got the problem fixed it was the middle finger on the mainspring rubbing the mag. I took a lillte of the bend out of it and the mags drop free, thanks for all the help from everyone.

  9. I have a new Springfield 1911 that the mags are dragging on the mag catch. Is this something that will work itself out as I shoot more or do I need to work on the mag catch?
  10. You need to index handle a few times to get the primers fully loaded in the disk. You will also need to run a few strokes of the handle when you are finished to clear the cases from the press this will result in a few primers being ejected into the primer tray. I usually just hand remove them as I index the press, the primers are still good and I just put them back in the primer loading tube.
  11. Are you aware of any of the major gun companies doing anything special if you shoot the match with their model. I think last year S&W had a possible prize for the Smith shooters and Springfield has done that in the past. I have a Caspian SS, Smith SS , and Springfield SS just not sure which one to bring.
  12. I had the pleasure to shoot many matches with Bob in Evansville, truley a great person to be around. We will have a moment of silence in his honor at this Sundays 3-Gun match in Atlanta, In
  13. I have always shot right handed but am left eye dom., I have found that a very stable platform is to lay my right cheek on right shoulder and sight down the slide with my left eye. This brings head, shoulder, arm , and gun all in the same shooting plane. (A mideast secret police have been teaching this style for many years) This will almost give you rifle accuracy on long range pistol shots.
  14. I sure hope the squad list remains as is, I am looking forward to shooting with Todd and Robbie once again. Many, many years ago when I was young and good I had the chance to be squaded with them and it is a pure pleasure to shoot with them. Really can't understand as we all get older together they keep getting better and I keep getting worse. Age and injuries has taken its toll on my ability but not my desire, looking forward to another great Single Stack Nationals
  15. I would add some inches to that barrell so as not to make minor again. ( sorry could't resist)
  16. Thanks for all the good info, sounds like I have many options to look at. I will use this mostly for carry since it seems that most of the "games" only allow 6 shot, not sure why, if 6 is good 7 is better.
  17. I just started to get into revolvers and recently purchased a Model 686 7 shot 2 1/2" and need some advice. I am thinking of having it cut to use moonclips but am not sure if this is what I want or not. I have shot autos for 25 years and was wanting to try something new. I am thinking of carrying and using the 686 in matches. Any ideas as to the pros and cons of moonclips and also where would I send it to get it cut to accept moonclips. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
  18. Thanks for changing the date, one great match that I would hate to miss.
  19. I think it would be great if you move the match to Sat. I have shot the match the past 2 years and really look forward to it, but with a 7 hour drive and the match not getting over till 6 or 7 pm it makes for a late night to get home and be reqady for work on Monday.
  20. Are the dates correct ? May 31 is the day for the staff to shoot which is a Sat., that puts the match on Sunday June 1. Can someone please verify this date, if it is indeed on Sunday that makes for a hard time if you have to travel to get back to work on Monday. Last year the staff shot on Friday with the match on Saturday which works out really well for those that have to travel.

    Redneck DUI

Being a retired deputy the fact a drunk was driving a lawn mower is not that uncommon. I don't think the deputy was a jerk for doing what he did, he asked the guy to get off the mower more than once with out the guy doing what was asked. I am sure if you who said the deputy was a jerk had been driving by with the guy peeing from the top of his mower you would also complain because nothing was done about it.
  22. I am really new to wheel guns and am wanting to shoot a 4" 686 but am not sure what is best. What is the recomendation from those of you who are past the beginner stage.... moonclips or speedloaders for a Model 686. I have played with a 625 with moonclips and it seems to work really well with the stubby .45 but with the longer .38/.357 does the rounds move around a lot in moonclips ?
  23. I just got a S&W Model 625-4 that I am wanting to start shooting USPSA and ICORE with, my question is what holster would be best to shoot both sports? I most likely will not shoot totally in the revolver division in USPSA but plan on maybe 4-6 matches per year with the other time shooting Limited. I have never shot an ICORE match so I dont know what to expect or what is needed for that sport. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  24. Since we do compete against each other from time to time on house clearing stages I think you need to have a 46" barrel for all of those stages. Letter going to govener today to mandate that for you. ( p.s. I will be designing multiple stages with ports and very narrow hallways for that 46" gun)
