They offer 2 types  "pass for sure" and "really really close" , in the ones Ive installed  both types passed on the egw gauge   very nice basepad

Right, but I’ve been to majors, including at least 1 area match where they used a gauge that covered the entire bottom of  the base. These extensions definitely would not pass those gauges. Seems like an easy arbitration, but also a huge hassle.

  2. I’ve been looking at the +2 mag extensions for the p320 by Henning. And I’m curious if anyone has had an issue with them passing equipment check. The extension is shaped in such a way that only the back portion of the mag fits in the gauge. This works because the gauge only measures the back portion. The front half of the extension has some ridges that are clearly too long to fit, if the gauge measured the entire bottom of the base pad.

    See attached pic.

    opinions or experiences?

You may want to check the laws on that. I can 100% guarantee you he can charge it back. Belive me I went through this kind of stuff with a company that does custom truck suspension and steering parts. So long as you can prove they didn't meet the agreed upon time-frame or quality you can have the CC do a charge back.

    *edit*

decided it wasn’t worth having this argument over the internet.

Agree 100%.  Do a charge back with your CC company and have no regrets. The fact that PT hasn't offered you a full refund speaks volumes.

If he ordered in Nov of last year, he’s way past the time where he could have disputed it with his CC company. Most Cc companies are 90 days max, some are as little as 30 days.

He’s essentially at the mercy of PT.

  5. I’ve lost count on how many I’ve sent in for this issue. It’s over 10. That said, I’ve been using them since they were released and have many thousands of rounds through them.

I’d say that they tend to fail in the 10-25k range. Some last longer than others, but chance of failure is 100% over time.

one thing I’ve done to prolong the life of the buttons is, I no longer turn the optic off. With the Motion activated on/off, I haven’t noticed any difference in battery life. If you’re one of those guys that turns to dot on/off every stage, you’re greatly reducing the time between repairs.

all that said, they need to fix this. The optic has been out several years now, it’s scary to think about how many they warranty for this issue.

That’s a good question… I never count those so I’m not sure but it’s definitely there

Dryfire is what causes the spring to be crushed. The striker is designed to hit the the primer and stop. With no ammo in the gun, the striker continues forward and puts extra compression on the reset spring.

it’s bad design for sure, but it’s engineered to function with live rounds, not dryfire. I’d bet that for 99% of p320 owners, it will never be an issue.

the gun still functions perfectly fine, I quit changing out this spring on my practice gun years ago.

The striker reset spring breaks every 1000 rounds. So I don't even know why they are even there. Worst part is, you can't even find them online without diving into it.

How much dryfire in the 1000 live rounds?

Just got my P320 MAX back from Robert and due to recovery, have not had a chance to completely disassemble the FCU for detailed inspection.  I did also receive his "Cradle" trigger which does not use any "weld spots" or travel screws of any kind.  I did notice the weld spot on the back of the trigger bar.

Would sure like to hear any additional details/mods that you may want to share as to his modifications.

    👍

The weld spots your seeing are adjusting the pre/over travel. The main method of his trigger job is reshaping the striker/sear interface.

I had Burke add that trigger to my 320 X5 Legion as well.  I like the characteristics, but overall I think the trigger pull is too much.  After a long session with around 800 rounds the trigger pulled almost doubled.  Given it is dirty and needs a good cleaning now, but I have to give him a buzz.  Glad things are working out for you!

Ive had TSA do multiple trigger jobs for me. they generally pull around 2-3lb. if yours is at more than that, something is wrong.

How's the recoil impulse compared to the factory slide? I'm curious because the GG slide doesn't have the windows on the top of the slide.  It looks like it'd be heavier but I know they take weight out elsewhere so that could make up the difference.

its no different than the OEM slide.

I've been hearing chatter of quite a few having button issues actually. I have a fairly new, bought at beginning of May, XL with less than 1000 rounds on it and the down button is already getting intermittent.

Button failure is pretty much inevitable

  12. The buttons are a constant problem. It’s the weak point of the optic. The buttons will slowly stop working right. They won’t work at all or they will move multiple brightness levels with one press.

I’ve sent back countless r3s to sig. they are good about replacing them, but you’d think they would have addressed the problem by now, considering the optic has been around for 3 years.

  13. I recently received one of these.  Unfortunately for me, although the hanger adjusts on every axis imaginable, the holster itself can’t be adjusted up as far as I’d like.

also the hanger digs into my hip, even with the optional pads.

that said, the thing is very well crafted and infinitely adjustable. If you like to wear your holster low it should work.

Thank you for the info guys, a couple of things. I did fire the gun this morning, roughly 300 rounds with no problem from the trigger, my main concern is that it might act up during a match, which I will probably reloctite the set screws on the Armory Craft trigger.  The trigger probably has about 1000 rounds on it with no problem before and I just added the gray guns guide rod and at the first match with it, I had some stove pipes as I was using the 15lb spring it came with which led me to want to try a 14lb spring.

The fcu has a mechanism that prevents taking the gun apart with a magazine inserted. Sometime when you reassemble you need to push up on the slide stop to deactivate this safety. Sounds like it’s functioning normally.
