Just got my P320 MAX back from Robert and due to recovery, have not had a chance to completely disassemble the FCU for detailed inspection.  I did also receive his "Cradle" trigger which does not use any "weld spots" or travel screws of any kind.  I did notice the weld spot on the back of the trigger bar.

Would sure like to hear any additional details/mods that you may want to share as to his modifications.

    👍

The weld spots your seeing are adjusting the pre/over travel. The main method of his trigger job is reshaping the striker/sear interface.

I had Burke add that trigger to my 320 X5 Legion as well.  I like the characteristics, but overall I think the trigger pull is too much.  After a long session with around 800 rounds the trigger pulled almost doubled.  Given it is dirty and needs a good cleaning now, but I have to give him a buzz.  Glad things are working out for you!

Ive had TSA do multiple trigger jobs for me. they generally pull around 2-3lb. if yours is at more than that, something is wrong.

How's the recoil impulse compared to the factory slide? I'm curious because the GG slide doesn't have the windows on the top of the slide.  It looks like it'd be heavier but I know they take weight out elsewhere so that could make up the difference.

its no different than the OEM slide.

I've been hearing chatter of quite a few having button issues actually. I have a fairly new, bought at beginning of May, XL with less than 1000 rounds on it and the down button is already getting intermittent.

Button failure is pretty much inevitable

  5. The buttons are a constant problem. It’s the weak point of the optic. The buttons will slowly stop working right. They won’t work at all or they will move multiple brightness levels with one press.

I’ve sent back countless r3s to sig. they are good about replacing them, but you’d think they would have addressed the problem by now, considering the optic has been around for 3 years.

  6. I recently received one of these.  Unfortunately for me, although the hanger adjusts on every axis imaginable, the holster itself can’t be adjusted up as far as I’d like.

also the hanger digs into my hip, even with the optional pads.

that said, the thing is very well crafted and infinitely adjustable. If you like to wear your holster low it should work.

Thank you for the info guys, a couple of things. I did fire the gun this morning, roughly 300 rounds with no problem from the trigger, my main concern is that it might act up during a match, which I will probably reloctite the set screws on the Armory Craft trigger.  The trigger probably has about 1000 rounds on it with no problem before and I just added the gray guns guide rod and at the first match with it, I had some stove pipes as I was using the 15lb spring it came with which led me to want to try a 14lb spring.

The fcu has a mechanism that prevents taking the gun apart with a magazine inserted. Sometime when you reassemble you need to push up on the slide stop to deactivate this safety. Sounds like it’s functioning normally.

I have never heard of the Legion having a tungsten grip weight from the factory; I think if it did it would be fairly common knowledge by now.

After market tungsten weights are available from Shooting Sports Innovations. There may be other suppliers but I am unaware of them.

If sig used a tungsten weight it would double the cost of the grip module.

Ben, you have a steel insert in your TXG grip. Here’s a couple of pictures I took a few years back when I bought the TXG grip for my original X5.

There is no steel version. They are all brass with a grey coating.  Don’t believe me? Put a magnet on them..

@Rich406While I'm definitely in full learning mode as this is my first X5 Legion/MAX series Sig, I did come across another similar conversation concerning the same reference.  IOW, the MAX did not come with a tungsten grip insert; but instead came from the factory with a stainless steel version.

So, trying to figure out what was in my grip module, I removed everything from the module and first tried an industrial strength magnet to the existing insert.  No magnetic attraction whatsoever!  So then I decided to weigh the grip module and it came out to 14.80 oz.

So, I'm not sure at this point what grip insert I have.

I did replace the steel guide rod which weighed 1.5oz with the Springer tungsten unit that weighed 3.30oz.  So I'm thinking tungsten will be about twice as heavy as the steel counterpart?

    Thanks for your feedback!

    It’s brass.

This was the best result so far running off the Ransom Rest @ 139 average power factor.  Doesn't feel offensive at all in the MAX which has the tungsten insert in the grip along with a tungsten guide rod.

    Just my initial assessment........

The max doesn’t have a tungsten grip weight, unless you put it in there.

It’s worth the wait. Also, you don’t know for a fact that it is he personally who is posting on Instagram, so don’t make assumptions and spread potentially false information if you don’t know that for a fact. He could have someone else helping with the social media stuff.

    That’s unlikely.

Nope same round in all the pics. So the GGP is really short. I sent them an email and pics earlier today. Have heard back but I’m sure I will.

Not that surprising. Most after market barrels have much tighter tolerances than oem

Don't get your hopes up.  I had Barsto custom fit a barrel to mine and it made very little difference.   I would say that it was a waste of a lot of money for me and would not do it again.

My understanding is that the accuracy issues are less about the barrel and more about the slide.

I also had 2 barsto barrels fit on my first 2 legions. If anything, it was worse with coated bullets. The chambers are also much tighter and pickier on ammo.

Your results seem to support other reports that the Legion barrel is much happier with 124gr than it is with 147gr (or in this case 150gr).

It’s more a difference between coated and fmj. At least in this case.

I did watch someone drop a mag on a table start the last match I was at. Honestly, never even considered that to be a possible failure. He said that it was most likely due to pressing the gun into the table and hitting the mag release. its forever etched in my brain now as a fear lol. Not sure of which release

Dropping mags on a table or barrel start is a big problem with the springer paddle. You have to be extra careful. I’ve had is happen a few times even when consciously being careful. I finally switched.

Max Michel has actually altered his table start pickup to deal with this problem. He faces the paddle side up, picks the gun up with his offhand and places it into his strong hand.
