@Rich406 Forgot to ask........you using the stock barrel?  Or aftermarket?

I'm thinking the 1:10 twist stock barrel may have different requirements vs something like the 1:16 Bar-Sto......

    🤔

    Stock legion barrel.
I had TSA fit 2 barsto barrels when the p320 legion first came out. They were arguably worse for the loads I was shooting. I also didn’t care for the tighter chamber.

@oddjob This is a 147g Zero match load that shoots less than 1" from my CZ............

Tested in the Max, bench rested, at 15 yds.  10 rounds.

IMO, poor performance from the P320!  Of course there's always the chance a higher velocity might produce better results.  For now, I'm going to try and make the 124/125g bullets work.

    👍

I had good luck with the RMR FMJ 147Gr FP. If you’re looking for a heavier bullet.

I find it interesting with all optics on how hit or miss it seems to be.  Hwansik Kim has discussed he has had like 5-6 (I think that was the number) fail on Stoeger's podcast, yet there are people like you who have had great luck with them.  This seems like the same story with Trijicon, Sig, etc.

I broke 8 in one season. The battery sticker was the weak point. I’ve been told they are fixed, bit I wouldn’t touch one with a 10 foot pole.

I believe you are referring to the silver barrels from their 1st generation. Then, they went to the black/blued ones, which is what both of mine are.🤔

The original x5 never had an lci barrel, no matter the color. The x5 legion had a lci barrel for the first 6 months or so.

At what velocity?  How fast did you get them in you testing?  I found they grouped fine once you got them fast enough.  Probably no worse than any other plastic gun.  I am sure there is a point where they are too fast and start melting the coating to a greater degree which would also degrade accuracy.  I do not think I have reached that point in my testing.

Curious for my own data points.

Blue bullets 147gr .356 up to 135pf - no good

Blue bullets 135gr .356 up to 135pf - no good

blue bullets 124gr .356 up to 135 pf - no good

black bullets 147gr up to,135 pf - no good

    rmr 147gr HMW fmj @ 130 pf - good

    mt gold 147 cmj @ 130pf - good

    mt gold 124 jhp @ 130 pf - good

thats the limit of my testing. I don’t see a point of exceeding 135pf for a USPSA load, as It’s not optimal.

I switched both to guide rods. I think one is a “fat” rod, and the other is tungsten. I believe LCI

The original X5 didn’t come with a lci barrel

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this true for ALL pistols and would not be an issue limited to just the Legion?

I just wanted to clarify if this is a statement in regards to the legion or just coated bullets in general.

I always seem to get better and more consistent groups with jacketed bullets across the board.  I'm guessing it's because the jacket is more consistently uniform than most coated bullets.

Yes, that’s true. But with the legion coated are usually a lot worse.

  8. I went multiple seasons with an 1/8” gap between the optic mounting plate and the front of the slide cut, on multiple guns. No problems. However I did check to make sure the screws were torqued correctly every 2000 rounds. Should do this with any optic mount.

All optics mounted on a sig slides have a slight gap and no raised mounting slots. Many people lose their s#!t over this, but I’ve had minimal problems with their system.

I have a Sig 320 X5 Legion (box states built in Oct 2021).  Its off getting trigger work done.  I'm planning to mount a Trijicon SRO on it.  I see Springer Precision, CHPWS, EGW make plates for the X5/SRO combination.  I'm sure there are others.

My question is which plate?  I saw the EGW plate seems thicker, but is that a problem?

    thanks

Why not just direct mount it>

I can report we have only had one unit that has been warrantied for button failure. Anything can fail but it doesn't seem to be a common problem with our optics.

that's interesting. the R3 has constant problems with the buttons. I'd assume that they use the same circuit board and buttons.

Potato, potato lol. Sucks the wait was longer than expected but I’m sure you’re still thrilled it’s in before the season gets going good. I would be. Then again, I’m happy when new grip tape arrives in the mail

Not really, the guy should be more realistic about his wait times. He’s running nearly double what he advertises.

Are there any other owners of the Apex 10 out there that have truly solved the priming issues?  I want to be able to reload several hundreds of rounds without a primer jamming the system.

Mine runs mostly fine. I have an automated apex. The most important thing I’ve found is it must be clean. Once you get any powder or primer residue under the disk, the problems start.

also I’ve found that cci primers run best, federal and Winchester are much more finicky.

I usually do a 2k reloading session with minimal problems.

Curious what makes you say that from copying and pasting the details from the FAQ?  I like the products, think their great, and answering questions from experience. Guess I need to tone down the enthusiasm.

The fact that you had the products before release and are very active talking them up on various internet sites.  And also the fact that the person that answers emails at aligntactical is also named Joel A.

I thought the same, but checked the FAQ on the website (copy and pasted) which talks about just that in their design:

It's true, works perfectly without a single issue when used correctly .. if you use it like a *thumb rest [generic]*, you're asking to be pinched...  I just press my thumb flat "like a fingerprint reader" and don't roll the meaty part against the slide.

dude, you are clearly closely associated with this company, and that’s not a bad thing. But, when you are all over the internet pretending like you are some super satisfied customer, it makes whatever you say look self serving and disingenuous.
